I was wondering this same thing as well... I have hypothyroidism, I was wondering if this will slow my weightloss.

I went to my first consult with my surgeon on 7/26/2012... I have my surgery 12/12/2012!! So about 5 months... I got my approval from insurance in October but my surgeon is really booked...

I am 12/12/12 too!!! Don't get to worried about it... I was getting myself all worked up about it and then my approval came in less then a week! I am so excited now... I feel like it is getting so close and with Thanksgiving being only 2 weeks away then we will start all of our Christmas prep so I am hoping the next month goes by fast. I have all my pre-op testing on 11/15 and my EGD on 11/20... I am suppossed to start my pre-op diet a week before my SX date but I think I am going to start it sooner.

I love my mirena... I am still pre-op but haven't had any weight gain since I got it...

I Hvae hypothyroidism... I was approved by insurance for my surgery... Starting medication to regulate your thyroid levels is not a magic cure... You didn't become obese just becuase of your thyroid, although having your thyroid out of wack makes it difficult to loose weight on your own...

The pink spotting could be a sign of implantation bleeding... Headaches are a sign of early pregnancy... If AF was due on 11/2, I am assuming mathmatically you could have been ovulating on or around 10/16 when you had unprotected sex... You would be around 4 weeks pregnant and definately could take a pregnancy test now... Take one!!! I agree with iggychic...by the EPT test... Buy the one with PINK dye not blue... Blue sometimes gives a false positive due to dye runs and alot of companies aren't using it anymore... The EPT is accurate at very low HGC levels!

12/12 here... I got my approval from insurance last week! I go for all my pro-op testing on 11/15 and have to do a 1 week pre-op diet... I ahve the instructions now... I may start with the pre-op diet a little early and ease into it... My pro-op diet consist of 2 protien shakes (allowed fruit and/or non starch veg with shakes) 2 fruit, yogurt, or veg snacks if desired/needed and healthy dinner of protien and veg with very limited starch (nut said I could so 1/2 a small potato or 1/2 c of rice if I wanted) I am thinking about starting to substitue breafast for a protien shake so I can start trying them out and see what I like. Then I will probably do the pre-op diet for 2 weeks rather then 1 I want to make sure all my ducks are in a row and absolutely NOTHING gets in the way of my surgery, that includes a fatty liver!

I would think you could start it right away.

I can't ask for mine to be removed during surgery bc it is already gone... However Gall Bladder attacks are the worst! I felt like I was having a heart attack! If your Dr is offering you meds to prevent an attack then take them!!

I LOVE your # 5... My SIL is even more obese then me, HOWEVER she is one of those people who thinks she is much smaller then what she is. And honestly for the 9 years I have been with my husband she ALWAYS finds something to critize me for... I am really looking forward to the first time she sees me (she lives 2 hours aways from me) after my surgery. Just the thought of the look on her face once I am at goal is motivating enough! LoL

Why are they waiting so long? Is this when your requirements are completed? If not can they enter you paperwork with a dummy date of surgery now and change the date of surgery after you have an approval, this is what my surgeons office is doing. My sx date is 12/12... They submited to Horizon BCBS on Monday with a dummy date of sx as 11/7... I have called my insurance and there is a pending approval with authorization number but it is just in the final stages of medical review!

I completely agree with this. It seems like the bigger sizes you buy the longer they are!

I habe Horizon BCBS of NJ too... All of my info was sent in on Tuesday morning... I am crossing my fingers that I get a fast approval too!

Congrats on your approval! I have my surgery scheduled for 12/12/12. My file was submitted to insurance first thing this morning for approval... I feel so anxious waiting!

I am from Bordentown. Who is your surgeon? I was going to use Dr Noyan at RWJ but then I had my consultation with Dr Chau and really like him and his office staff so now I am getting it done at Princeton Hospital

They have little inserts you can put on the backs of your rings to make them a little smaller. Most jewlery stores sell them. Unfortunately this wont be an option for me... My engagement ring is set into my wedding bands so the back of my band is pretty thick. I have never seen them made for rings as thick as mine, but I have seen tehm for all kinds of normal rings, I actually have one for another ring.

Had my last Nut Appt yesterday afternoon. Everything was submitted to insurance first thing this morning! I am starting to get really excited! Now I am just waiting on my approval.

I was suprised when i looked at my ticker yesterday and saw how close my surgery actually is!

I will keep my fingers crossed! Mine was sent to Horizon BCBS this morning. They expect to hear something by the end of the week!

I am getting sleeved Dec 12... I am a little upset I won't be able to share in the Christmas goodies but it will be well worth it!

I don't know how familiar any of you are with the show Real Housewives of NJ but one of the women from the show, Melissa Gorga put of a fat suit and walked around Times Square in NYC for an interview on ET. Melissa who has an outstanding figure normally even admitted how mean people were to her when she was in her fat suit. She had rude comments made to her, doors slammed in her face, it was really eye opening to her. I am not sure what the policy is for posting links on here but if you just google MElissa Gorga fat suit the stories and YouTube videos will come up and you can see for yourself.
