  1. I agree that you should wait. I know I definitely am not taking in enough nutrients for one, let alone two, yet and I'm about as far out as you. I know it's hard when you want one so bad and the husband is on you too (my husband is really on me right now - we miscarried right before surgery). I keep telling my husband that we have to wait because as much as it hurts to wait, it'd hurt more to lose another because my body can't sustain a pregnancy or to give birth to an unhealthy baby. The time really will pass before you know it and right now just concentrate on making a healthy nest for your baby to grow :-)

  2. As your surgeon again but if they say no, you should be fine. I was supposed to do a liquid diet but I struggled with it due to migraine problems. In the end I was pretty much taken off of it and my surgery was textbook. It all depends on your body (low bmi vs high bmi), your health, and your surgeon. My cousin just had the same surgery and was on a 2-3 week liquid only diet and followed to the tee and still had problems with her liver being to hard (she used to be a heavy drinker so I'm sure that played a part) but they were able to do her surgery regardless - just took longer. Don't worry :-)

  3. Hi,

I haven't been sleeved yet but in prep I've checked out a few books from the library to be familiar with what I can and can't eat post sleeve. Maybe you could do that. Another option is purchasing them on Amazon if you cant find any at the library. My favorite book that I borrowed from the library was Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery: Over 140 Delicious Low-Fat High-Protein Recipes to Enjoy... by Patt Levine. If you do a search you'll find a ton.

There's also a food and nutrition section on here that might help and I know some fail safes are eggs, tuna, ground meat, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, sugar free pudding with protein powder mixed in, the dreaded shakes, and most seafoods.

    Hope that helps some :-)

  4. I'm sorry about your grandmother but I'm so happy for you otherwise. Looking at your pic you started about where I'm starting and I'm really happy to see the sleeve working for you - even if it is in a shock collar kinda way ;-) which sometimes is what we need. I haven't been sleeved yet but I hope that when I am, I can be as successful as you.

  5. Hi! I totally agree with you about the plastic surgery being more acceptable! Sad isn't it? I've told tons of people about my plans to get a tummy tuck a few years down the road since my child bearing years weren't so nice to me and no one looks down on me but I know that it will be different if I tell them I'm having WLS.

I'm totally going to look into Vi... as for something less heavy... I found that the one Wal-Mart sells called Body Fortress... you mix it with water and it tastes pretty good and it's thin - maybe good for post surgery :-)

  6. Congrats on your loss! Any loss is an achievement in my book :-)

I'm with you on the shopping thing... I've become the biggest shoe collector since I gained weight... funny thing is right now I can't wear anything but flats and tennis shoes b/c of foot damage caused by my heels but I'm already purchasing new ones for when my foot gets better LOL.

I'm sorry to hear that your SO is not being supportive. That's one of my biggest fears. My husband says that he will but I know he likes me heavier and I wonder what will happen when I really start to lose. Maybe you can talk to him some time (not around a meal) and let him know that his support is important and it hurts you that he makes those comments when you are trying to get healthy...

Either way - good luck and keep your head up. HUGS!
