  4. http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/50163-frustrated-what-am-i-doing-wrong/#entry464211 I posted this earlier today!
  5. Allright Thanks Ladies. I know this is the most successful I have ever been. I just need to stop comparing myself to other's losses. I am usually around 60-70 grams of protein. thanks for your encouragement!
  6. Hello everyone, I was sleeved 8/2, so I'm a little over 3 weeks post op. The first week, I lost 12 lbs! I could hardly believe it! Since then, I've lost 3 more lbs. It's been super frustrating, as the scale will be down one, then up one, then down one over and over again. I know there is a stall around 2 weeks out-but does it last for two weeks?! I am exercising, nothing crazy, walking and elliptical. I average between 650-800 calories. Any ideas/help/advice? Thanks in advance.
  7. I'm 15 days post-op and my sleep has been terrible the whole time. I wake up and can't fall back asleep all of the time!! Hoping its temporary.
  8. Hell no! I hear your reasons for wanting one, but this will severely mess with your healing!! Get out a pen and piece of paper and journal. Watch your favorite tv show or movie. Read a book. You can do this and get through this.
  9. Jealous! We get to start soft foods 3 weeks out. Enjoy!
  10. Hey Everyone! We are 8 days into August! Some of us have been sleeved, some of us have not-where is everyone at! I was sleeved 8/2. The first day was rough, but since then I've been doing pretty good! down about 12 lbs since surgery!! yay! mama's been trying on some skinny pants today....and they fit! Hallelujah !
  11. I'm thinking she means she's lost 40 lbs since she began the wls journey.
  12. Allright! You are on your way! congrats!
  13. Keep in mind, that you will eventually be able to eat just about anything. Just less of it So yes, right now you are recovering and not eating what your family eats. But before you know it you can cook a healthy, high Protein meal that you all can share. Just everyone's portions will be different. As Tonja said, what you are experiencing is completely normal. food has served as our best friend and comforter for a long, long time for many of us. Just take it one day at a time, and before you know it you will be embracing your new life.
  14. Well said! Thanks for your story.
  15. Well, you could always go back to liquids for a few days to 'restart' yourself and get some focus. It's so hard to take care of ourselves correctly when we have other stressors, but it's a must! Start tracking. They make a lot of ways to do it very easily, on your phone or my fitness pal. Force yourself to take 15 minutes and do it. It sounds like you know what you need to do (more Protein, more exercise), now it's up to you to take control. I'm very sorry about your loss.
  16. I was just sleeved on 8/2. What you are going through is completely normal! I made two lists for myself of things I hate about being fat and what I am looking forward to after surgery. The things ranged from petty to major. I hated being judged on my appearance. I hated freaking out if I would fit in a booth, etc. I could not wait to delve into my 'skinny' clothes I had been holding on to for years. Just keep reminding yourself of your long term goals and what led you to start pursuing this surgery in the first place.
