8 days post opo
Every surgeon has their own requirements. But only you know what your body will tolerate. If your tummy says no to meat, try cottage cheese, sf pudding, refried Beans, and a Protein Drink. No need to feel stupid. :-) We are all here because we are unsure about eating in the beginning. Start with one oz, and then if you feel you can eat more try the last half half oz.

Second week stall club
I stalled for a few days after one week. Scale moved this morning. 1lb at a time. That's how I gained it, so that's how I'll lose it. But 19lbs in two weeks was never something I could do on my own. So I'll take it.

6 days out and down 13 lbs.
I was down 10lbs in one week. Day of surgery 245 and one week out I was 235. Almost two weeks out I'm 226. I don't know what would be normal, but I think your loss is really good!! Congrats!!

4 days post op questions?
First five days were not fun for me. Morning of day six no pain meds needed. I was able to tolerate liquids a lot better. I bet tomorrow or the next day you will really turn the corner and start feeling much better. :-)

Stomach Pain, ER Visit & Results: To much bending and squats!
Good to hear it wasn't something serious! I asked my doc because I was having tightness in my legs. He told me if you aren't getting enough protein that can cause muscle aches. Also with MS I know too low potassium can lead to muscle cramps. Crazy what a slight deficiency can do to the body....

What are some things that you wish you would have known before you got sleeved?
Heating pad for gas pain. Chapstick. Small pillow to place over tummy for when you cough. And my tummy is talkative as well. Has an opinion about everything. :-)

*Rolls eyes* Do I really have to give up Coke?!
My doc told me it isn't the risk of stretching the sleeve. It is the sugar and calories. Pepsi max or dr pepper 10 maybe?

Is my heart getting lazy?
Aim for 30 minutes of activity a day. But start slow. Start with 6 five minute walks throughout the day. Then after a week try 3 10 minute walks. Then 2 15 and before you know it you are walking 30 minutes 2x a day. Congrats on your amazing loss!!!

Bad reflux after advancing
So I was able to advance to my next level and start on full liquids/mushy. I kept it pretty low key and only had 1/4c fat free cottage cheese and 8oz protine drink made with skim milk. I also sipped on water, but that was my afternoon consumption. Now I am having horrible reflux 2 hrs after my last "meal". I'm on a ppi, so I'm not sure why the sudden surge in reflux. Anyone else have this?

Are you drinking cold water? I found the first few days it had to be cool to room temp or I would have horrible cramps/spasms.

Itching...
One week out and the itching has started already. And to help join in the fun my insomnia has decided to kick in full force. sleep and sanity? Who needs that? Have my follow up appointment tomorrow and I'm gunna ask if I can start using my ambien yet... Did anyone with insomnia pre op notice it got better, worse, or stayed the same after surgery?

I regret..!
It will get better. You just went through major surgery and your stomach just had a major trauma happen to it. No need to be a hero. Right now is very important to listen to your body. Take pain meds as prescribed. Don't wait for pain to start. Stay ahead of it. If your body says to sleep, then sleep. When you are awake take small sips of room temp water and try to walk every 30 minutes. Even if its a lap around the room. Focus on small victories. Right now it might be too overwhelming to think about the big picture. Focus on sipping, walking, and protein. Remember it will get better. Every day you will notice improvements. No matter how small, those improvements are part of you getting to a healthier life.

Taste Bud Changes
Yes. Things that were a little sweet pre op tasted syrupy sweet. I tried beef broth today and it tasted so odd. Didn't expect the broth to taste so odd.
