Do any other pre sleevies feel like things move slow to get thru the process. I had my first stop class one week ago and have been waiting for the call to have my psych appointment......no call yet. I have a three week periodoff of work starting at the end of November and I am really hoping that everything will be in place by then. Please give me patience!
  3. Good luck to you. I am pre surgery and wondering how much time I need to take off before returning to work. I am an RN in a hospital setting and there is no light duty at my job. Any suggestions?

I attended my first step class this week and am one step closer! My next step is my psych appointment which I am patiently waiting for a call to schedule! I did learn a lot of good useful information at the class....a lot more detail about what is to come and what to expect...including diet, protein and fluids.

Here I go!! Finally getting to learn a few things. I started this process the end of May, going to my first informational meeting. After having a month delay in getting started doing anything (because of switching insurances) I am finally getting thru my pre op steps. Tonight I have my "First Step " class to go over more details and learn about all the particulars of surgery and life after. I read on this site every few days and get so much encouragement from everyone. I am only one step away from having my case sent off to insurance to get final approval. I have started to change my eating habits and excercise. I am sooooo ready to get moving! Yea!!! Lets go!
  7. Thanks so much for posting this question. I am looking at a November date so i am still a ways out but have had the same concerns. I look forward to the day that food does not rule my life. Thanks so much for all the great posts!
  8. Sorry to hear about your illness....I also recommend a pneumonia shot, yearly flu shots and lots and lots of deep breathing exercises and coughing to clear out the passages.. Good luck!
  9. So excited for you!
