  1. I also had my surgery in Arkansas. I was banded April 30, 2012 by Dr. Mark Gibbs. I've lost 55 lbs so far. Please do your research on all of these surgeons because I have heard that one of them has many malpractice suits against him. Good luck.
  2. Yes. I actually have the Realize band. So far I love it. It took me around 9 months to go get through the insurance approval requirements. It's all worth it though. I'm buying clothes sizes that I haven't worn in probably ten years.
  3. Yes. Dr. Gibbs is a great surgeon. I was banded on April 30 and have already lost about 40 lbs. you will love his nurse Carrie too. She helped me out so much on getting my approval. Good luck!
