  1. I'm 6 months PO next week and I'm 11 weeks prego. I've already had 2 ultrasounds to check on the baby's growth and so far all is good. I'm wondering if you're still having no weight loss or gain at this point. So far, my weight fluctuates up & down from day to day but I'm staying in the 185-190 range. And my jeans are too big. I have my first appt with my Sleeve Doc next week since I found out I was prego. So I'll see what he says too. I've just been trying to eat healthy and not over do it on the junk food.

    Sleeved A Week Ago

Been there with nsa apple juice. It had so much freaking sugar it upset my stomach for 3 days. After that, I did 50/50 Water & juice. Juice still tasted good & did not upset my stomach. It's funny how some people can tolerate things others can't & vice-versa. It's all a learning process for all of us. Hope you find a Protein Drink that works for you.

    Sleeved A Week Ago

Sorry you're having so many problems. Keep your chin up because it will get better. For some it just takes longer. Some drinks I was okay with before surgery just don't taste right to me after surgery. I decided to try the premier high Protein vanilla premade shake (got it at Sam's Club) and it actually tastes good. You might want to try that if you can. They also have chocolate flavor. Only 160 cals, 30g protein, low carb, low fat. Not to expensive. It's around $19 for a case of 12. If you can tolerate those & get 2 in you a day then you'll be getting at least 60g protein & that will help with healing. We're all here for you. Update us on how things are going.
  4. lol that's what she said
  5. That's awesome! Keep up the great work. I do focus on my weight but I more focus on my size. I'm 5'8" and haven't been below 200# in almost 15 years. So my first weight goal is 200 & at 10 days post-op I'm 21 away from that. But I've also dropped enough around my waist that my size 20 & 18 pants are falling off. I'm excited to be able to wear my 14/16 clothes right now

Hey butterflylegacy, I just followed you on pinterest. I'm JM Langhammer. I see you're in Mansfield .. I live in SW Arlington so we're kinda neighbors. And like many of you, I've only told a few select people, so I have my nom nom nom board which has a lot of bad food porn lol but I'm planning on making a kick the carbs board too for the healthy stuff.

    Sandwiches

It's a bread product. They have ones called sandwich thins, both pieces combined are around 100 cals. There are also bagelthins which are way smaller than regular bagels and also around 100 cals. You can find them on the bread product aisle at the store

    Frantic Ready To Run

Just take it 1 day at a time. I had times of doubt too, even up to the day before my surgery. Mainly it was because my dad was extremely worried due to my aunt's problems with her sleeve the year before ( she had many co-morbidities which contributed to her initial problems but she's fine now). I knew I wasn't gonna change my mind but I was worried if it was gonna cause problems between me & my dad in the long run. He's being more supportive now that he sees I'm doing good. So just take it one day at a time, one step at a time and try not to stress over the little things. Sometimes you just have to zone out and go to your happy place to de-stress.
  9. The paperwork my doc gave me also says only take 500mg at a time. Right now they only recommend for me to do 1000mg of calcium citrate a day, so I eat 2 chewables (250mg each tab) and set my timer on my phone to go off 2 hours later and take the other 2 tabs. I'm guessing if I need the 1500mg/day they'll let me know after they do blood work. And just remember to not take iron or calcium within 2 hours of each other. They each block the absorption of the other.

    Going Crazy Over Vitamins

I bought liquid ones before my surgery that tasted perfectly fine. Post-op I couldnt taken them cos they gave me horrible indigestion. I switched to a chewable multi from Trader Joe's and I use B12 with folic acid liquid under the tongue from Vitamin Shoppe, raspberry flavour is actually okay. I got chewable calcium citrate at vitamin shoppe that's okay too but I can start them until next week (2 weeks post-op)

    Hot Dogs & Sausages

Have you tried any of the turkey sausage links? I know wal-mart carries them in different flavors and they have lower fat than beef or pork. I'm only 9 days post-op and was sad that I couldn't have a Hebrew national grilled hot dog w/saur kraute & spicy mustard for 4th of July. lol looking forward to when I can

    Hey Gang! First Post.

I had my surgery at Forest Park with Dr Frenzel 9 days ago. Great facility and they'll take good care of you. Don't get frustrated with yourself on bad days. We all have them. You just tell yourself tomorrow is a new day. I had several days during my 2 week Pre-op diet that I ended up eating the Hershey almond pieces but I had much better control than in the past. Instead of eating the whole bag, I just had a few. It does get better & all of us are here to support one another.

    Sleeve Vs. Lapband

When I started thinking about WLS, I was considering all options. I wasn't big enough for bi-pass so I was considering lap band or sleeve. I decided on the sleeve after seeing the complications of people I knew had lap bands. My friend's lap band eroded her stomach after 3-4 yrs and had to be removed. She ended up being horribly sick with infections for like a year before fully healing/recovering from it being removed. She ended up getting sleeved last September and said she wished the sleeve had been around when she got the lap band cos the sleeve is way better. I also have an uncle & aunt who have lap bands. They basically never lost any weight and had trouble eating without feeling sick.

    Sandwiches

My friend who is almost 1 year post-op uses the hungry girl flat bread to make her own homemade pizzas. Once I'm allowed more foods, I'm gonna have to try those. I'm gonna ask my doc about the bagel thins aty follow up next week, cos I love the everything ones toasted with one wedge of laughing cow soft cheese spread on top. Of course I know that I won't be able to eat the whole thing but I can make one & cut up in small pieces & save the leftovers for later.
