  2. Great! Did they cover your WLS?
  3. OTR sleever, I read a post somewhere on this forum where a lady said her insurance would cover a tummy tuck if the skin hung below your privates or something to that sort, it was said that it would be medically necessary due to increased potential for rashes, sores etc. I would have thought that a tummy tuck would be considered cosmetic but the explanation she gave sounded a bit reasonable. I can see the excess skin being a problem in that case. It would be great to have that covered. When I called my insurance co they stated that although WLS was not covered any problems/complications upon returning from Mexico would be. I'm gonna call an ask about skin removal or breast lifts and tummy tucks. I'm sure I might need one of each, lol!
  4. My question is if WLS is an exclusion on your policy things such as tummy tucks and breast reductions should be covered if they are medically necessary right? I figure if you develop a lot of loose skin, rashes, etc then it should pass for medically necessary?
  5. All of a sudden I realized that my health was not what it used to be. The aches and leg pain I knew were caused by my weight. Being a nurse, I was no longer able to work full time on the hospital floor, it was to physically exhausting. I get short of breath climbing stairs, lacing my shoes, combing my hair, cleaning my house, and picking things up off of the floor. Mowing the lawn is becoming increasingly difficult. I feel so uncomfortable in every piece of clothing I put on. I'm 5"1 and 232lbs. The sweating has become a nuisance. I shy away from public functions, can hardly fit in booths and I am no longer living, just existing. I'm scheduled for Nov 2012. But I'm praying I can move te date up to September.

    September Sleevers.*!?

@kiki74 I already did pt hx and got the approval. I gave her Nov 1 but I told her I was gonna change it. She said no problem but I'm really not certain of when I wanna go. I wann call one day and say put me on for next week. Don't know if that's possible though. He may be really booked and unable to accommodate.

    September Sleevers.*!?

I'm shooting for Sept with Dr Almanza. How is the booking with them? How much advance is needed to change your date? I was originally thinking Nov but it looks like Sept will be a good month financially!

    Me Not So Horny......

Ok you guys, I hope that after I'm sleeved, my sex drive doesn't take a nose dive. I'm already scraping the bottom of the barrel to make it happen. To be honest with you I can't put my finger on why I can't get in the groove. My husband works out and his body is the bomb dot com (at least in my eyes). I look at him and think "man I want to get it on", then I think about the energy it would take to do it and i'm like "nah, I'll pass" lol. I don't exercise, and now that I think about it, when I was exercising I was more into it. I just don't have the time now.

    Recovery Time

I'm hoping to not have to take that much time off also. If possible I would like to go back after a week. Hopefully it works out that way. I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

sbd1147, by norm I mean for so long we've been obese that it's now the "norm" in the eyes of so many. In other words it's our "norm" when indeed its not normal at all to be unfit and obese.

    Antici-Pa-A-A-Ation....it's Making Me Wait.....

Girl, don't worry about being a pest! Call them! They are all paid to provide you with questions and answers. Sometimes people will act A little swifter when they see that you are going to be checking up on the job that they're doing. Don't feel guilty at all about calling. No one is doing you a favor for free, ins co, dr, lab, nut,.....etc. they're all providing you with a service that YOU pay for. That's what makes you a consumer and the customer is always right to ask questions.

Dithdith26 I think far to often we get use to the "norm" and when the idea of change comes into the picture, the "what ifs" scares the crap out of some people. Most women tend to have a much easier time expressing their true inner feelings, men tend to usually keep their feelings under wrap. Their like an onion sometimes, you have to peel through each layer one by one to get to the real deal, and once your there tears might flow! I never understood why men have such a hard time expressing themselves. Nevertheless I agree with the rest of the forum, reassure him that you do love him and NEED him to be by your side through this. (they need to feel needed). Tell him that your feelings for him won't change and I've always believed in keeping things direct....ask him if he's fearful of something or feeling insecure. But most of all give him that reassurance that you will still be the person he married and the one that loves him unconditionally. Good luck on your journey to sleeve. I can hardly wait to join you!
