  1. ajtexas, and you never did something incorrect or didn't' relize you were doing it. For example some Protein shakes are very high in calories, i.e. the kellogs one. Tastes good but higher in calories, compared to others.

    This is a learning experience for everyone and hopefully this will help people relize they are doing something wrong. I am not saying hey you have a band go cheat around it. That is wrong what was the point. This is more I didn't even think i was doing so bad.

    For example the icee's at a cinema, that is one of my biggest thing, a coke a nd popcorn. I went there and found that i could stomach without a problem a icee. Which while i was ordering it , it didnt' occur to me that was most likely 1000 calories of nothing. Until after the fact.

    We all make mistakes. But no I never intentionally ate something just ot see what would happen.

    When I got the band I decided I had to change, I had to change EVERYTHING regarding my eating habits. & I did just that. I don't eat very many carbs, I eat mostly high Protein & veggies. Gave up the cola, icees, popcorn, and everything else that helped me get to 250 pounds. I made a choice to change my lifestyle.

    I am now healthy and happy with my weight and my band. This is what works for me.


  2. I am not sure of your reasoning behind this topic. Yes, we all can eat around the band, but WHY?????

    Why are you doing these things? the band is just a tool and just like any other tool it can be used incorrectly.

    I choice to use the band to help me with my mission. to loose weight and to maintain my weight goal. the band helped me do just that and for that I am truly grateful.

    Everyone gets what they put into there weight loss journey. It sounds like you got a list of how to work around the band.....


  3. Ok first, just breath. Relax. You have had a lot of s h it to deal with and you got off track. That's ok. it happens. B-52 is right. listen to your band. It is working the way it is supposed to. Focus on that. The key is when you do get hungry you eat the right foods, PROTEIN!

    You can do this!!!

    Hate to be the bearer of bad news but when you post on an open site like this pictures or otherwise, the post is there for the world to see, use, do as they want. No permission needed. You can secure pictures so they can't be copied but not on this sight.

    That is the life of open internet forums. Not private at all.


  5. How much fill do you have in your band? I have 4 and I seem to be fine. Everyone else seems to have so much more. Am I doing something wrong? Maybe eating too quick? The pieces are too big. I just want to know how much everyone else has.

    Don't get obsessed with the numbers. Everyone is different. Ask yourself, are you eating no more than a cup of food per meal, able to go 3-4 hours without feeling hungry and most important are you loosing weight? If all these answers are yes then great, you do not need any more Fluid in your band.

    Everyone is different regarding the amount of Fluid in their band. Look an CarolinaGirl lost 140 pounds and has never had a fill.... some patients feel restriction right out of the box, others need their band almost to max. Go with what feels and works right for you.

    It sounds like you are doing great, just keep it up. As you loose you may need a fill to help you along, just don't be in a rush to get there. This is for life. Good luck to you.


  6. Ok so a typical day.....? I really need a fresh look.

    Breakfast, snack, lunch dinner, ? You put anything with tuna ? I'm thinking boiled egg or two for breakfast, yogurt for snack, can of tuna lunch, apple snack, and a piece of grilled chicken for dinner ? What y'all eat on a daily ? Thanks for the info it helps tremendously. My insurance won't pay for nutritionist no more

    I mix a can of tune with 2 tablespoons of relish (about 40 calories) and sometimes a little mayo. It fills me up every time.Or I put it on a salad with a tablespoon of light ranch dressing.

    I have eggs almost every morning for breakfast, scrambled with 2 oz of turkey spam.

    Dinner is 4oz of lean meat (chicken breast, turkey burger, tilapia, or samon) and a 1/4 to 1/2 cup of veggies.

    I eat a high Protein, low carb diet. It has worked for me for almost 2 years now. I don't miss the carbs anymore.. But that is just me, you will find other successful bandsters who eat carbs and have lost bunches too.

    Find a plan that works for you. As for budget, it takes more time to plan and prepare your meals at home, but it is a lot cheaper than eating out and in the long run a lot better!!!


  7. Hey man welcome back. Number one thing to do is stay connected on here. Great group of people here that will help you through anything. Second most important is get back on your shakes. Third most important, do whatever these women on here tell you. They are much smarter than me. Good luck to you

    Cj focus on Protein first. Pack your lunch for work. A can of tuna is full of Protein and only 100 calories. It fills me up every time.

    I eat a high protein low carb diet and it has worked so far.

    You don't need a lot of funds to eat right, you just need to plan and shop for it.
