  1. OMG, I have been MIA for how long...& the princess has had a fill (not just one, but more....) I lost touch with you & all my online band friends, my bad! I didn't like the change from lapbandtalk.com to bariaticpal.com so I left. I'm snooping back in because I'm up 20 pounds, feeling frustrated, needing friends that understand.

  2. I have a question. I was banded on January 17, 2014. NO FILL in my band to date. For the first 5 days after surgery I was not hungry and actually unable to eat because I felt like I had just eaten Thanksgiving dinner. About all I could consume was coffee and sip on a Protein shake..Day six the hubby fixed taco salad for dinner....and nothing doing but I fixed a small portion of lettuce/tomato and a couple spoons of the "hamburger" fixture....I was able to eat this and swallow it without choking or chewing till it liquefied. WITH NO PROBLEMS. the only thing I noticed was the small amount filled me completely.

Now I'm terrified that because I can eat, that something is wrong with my band/stomach/pouch...have I totally messed things up by eating non-liquid foods? HELPPPPPPPP

You haven't messed anything up. Not knowing your post op diet, all I can say is you don't have enough fill in your band so as the swelling from surgery goes down the hunger will return.

  3. KL we are here for you. Terry & Arline gave some good advise, the only thing i would add is look into swimming exercises. I have back trouble and cannot do a lot of strenuous exercise but I find that swimming is easier on my back (it's fun & refreshing too).

As for the psychological help, I am a good listener. PM me if you would like to talk. This journey is not easy, the head games are the worst. S hit here it is New Years Eve and I'm online.....afraid to socialize? Partly, yes. I am still trying to figure out the social thing with my new lifestyle. You would think being at goal for a year now it would be a piece of cake.....not for me. It's a struggle every day.

Anyway, you have my full support & like I said PM me if you want to talk.

Happy New Year! 2014 will be a good year!!

  4. My drains where never even, so that was the same. My whole abdomen hurt, top & bottom. lol Yes, I'm driving now, once I was off the pain meds I could drive. Some days are better than others. Don't be surprised if you are not flat on your back tomorrow and hurting. Sit with your feet up as much as you can.

Take care, I'll be thinking of you all day.

  5. I'm a Sleever, but this problem applies to us, too. One of the first lessons I learned post op is in my signature below and it's probably one of the best things I've learned.

I always eat the best bite first. Whether it's the cheesiest, the crunchiest, the most gooey, I eat it FIRST. Then I eat the next best bite and then the next... This way, when I'm full, I'm full. I've gotten the best parts in, the rest isn't as appealing and I'm no longer hungry and anxious to finish my meal.

    Try it!

    Great advise!

Love your 'lessons' in your signature too.

    Congrats on your success.

  6. I like Revolution Protein bars.

  7. I'm in Austin, much nicer than Houston not so humid. Lived in Houston as a young child (moved to SoCal at 12).

I have a 10cc band. It took almost 8 months and several fills for me to get to the green zone, funny I was less than 20 pounds from goal by then. I currently have about 7cc in my band but you will find that the amount for the green zone will very from person to person.

You are in bandster hell, it sucks. Just focus on Protein first, 1 to 1 1/2 cups of food per meal, small bites, chewing till mush and eating slow. If you do need a snack make it a protein snack (cheese, greek yogurt, etc). You will see results.

    Good luck to you.

Oh yes, your body (mind too) has to adjust to every fill. You will need to learn how to eat with each and every fill. Take it easy and follow your doctors orders. As you get more restriction you will need to learn new eating habits.

Good luck to you, you are on your way.
