  1. I like Costco protein shake over protein bar. The liquid only has 110 calories with 30g of protein.
  2. I would do Breakfast and lunch, protein shakes and then at dinner a nice salad with a broiled chicken breast. You will have to do liquids anyway after the surgery. Just as well do it early. Good luck with surgery.
  3. I bet you saw lots of overweight people standing in line. Congratulations for walking away. You've worked too hard so far to get heavier.
  4. my information from my nutritionist was 60-70g of protein. I just feel better pushing 80-90g of protein.
  5. Congratulations and glad you are feeling better. 7 pounds is a great loss. At least you are not gaining anymore.
  6. Congratulations! Now donate those big pants to Good Will. You can't wear them any more.
  7. A friend told me he bought a big can of beef stew(Dintys More) and blended it in beef stock so he could drink it from a cup. Sounds yummy.
  8. Congratulations and Praise the good Lord.
  9. im close to 80-90g range. I feel less hungry when im close to 90g.
  10. Congratulations to all of you. Hopefully in early August I will joining you all.
  11. Hopefully on Jul 10 when I see my doctor, he will give me a date in August. I'm looking foward to this day. Since 2 weeks ago, I've been on 2 Protein shakes, Breakfast and lunch, then a small dinner salad at dinner. I need to pick up some more exercise. I'm walking on treadmill every other day. UPDATE: I'm pre-approved by Anthem BCBS as of JUl 26. BAND DAY is Aug 6.
  12. I'm glad to hear that all went well with your surgery and that so far you have had a good post op with discomforts. Hopefully, I will get Banded early August.
  13. May the good Lord bless you. Keep the faith.
  14. This is a Great story for me to read on a Monday morning getting ready for work. A bright beginning for all Banders. Steve, you have truly done an outstanding job with the Band. May God Bless you and thank you for sharing this wonderful adventure in your life.
  15. May God Bless you all, and Good Luck today to all new Banders.
  16. I'm hoping on my Jul 10 visit with my doctor that he schedules on in August.
  17. Most of us will die sooner, If we don't try and better our health by surgery. A simple gallbladder removal can have a bad outcome. And the 1 person who died probably had a weaken heart and very high blood pressure for many years. Sometimes we wait to long to correct a problem. In probably less than a month or so, hopefully I will have Lapband surgery. I look at my "older" parents father 91 years old and normal weight, my mother at 87 years old and normal weight. I want to live a long time but I won't if I continue to carry this additional 100-150 pounds on my body. Best wishes and God Bless to all who attempt to better their lives.
  18. Remember to drink plenty of water this will help you fight off the hunger pains. I'm not banded yet, but to help me lose weight, I drink two glasses of water then my Costco protein shake, multi-vitamins and off to work. For lunch, 1 water bottle full of Crystal Light Fruit punch flavor, an Atkins Advantage shake. Then for dinner a nice garden salad with balsamic vinger & oil. Sugar free popsicles at night or I make a slush drink using crystal light, shaved ice and freezer. I eat it like a ice cold smoothie. Hang in there.
  19. So far, I've paid out of pocket for Phychatrist evaluyation ($200) The day of surgery if it's in and out patient will be $250. If I have to stay over night it will cost me $500. The rest of the bills are paid by BCBS. Of course all the Protein shakes, special diet foods and chewable Vitamins are all costs we have to endure. I have my doctor appt on Jul 10, nutrition class same day, and then hopefully pick a date for surgery. I've lost 15 pounds since Jun 18 using Protein shakes and a nice dinner salad. I felt by eating light early my pre-surgery 2 weeks of liquids will be easier on me. Very anxious for the band.
  20. Congratulations on 3 years and thanks for your inputs on how successful you have been.
  21. I'm dieting on protein shakes and getting anxious for my pre-op visit with surgeon. All my medical tests are in and all I need to fulfill is a nutritional seminar. My doctor visit is on Jul 10. Hopefully I'll be able to get a surgery date quickly. I am ready..
  22. I'm going for my pre-op on Jul 10 In Santa Barbara Ca. My doctor will be doing SIL on me. I'm getting anxious to find out when my surgery date is scheduled. I've been dieting with protein shakes and a small dinner salad the last 11 days. I will continue dieting until surgery.
