    Wedding Ring Issues?

This is a great topic...one that I needed to see what others where doing for also. I have my wedding ring and another ring that are getting too big. Thanks for putting this up there!
  3. Hi ya, I too had surgery at Kaiser West LA with Dr. Zelada on June 25. My only complaint was with the PRE-op anesthesiologist Dr. Reuben...he told me to drink clear liquids until 6 am the MORNING of my surgery...I told him that Dr. Zelada told me 12 midnight ....he said " I don't want you coming in here dehydrated...go ahead until 6 am" which I did. It almost canc'd my surgery. I would of had my hands around his little neck if it would of. Dr. Zelada and his team were sooo cool they had me stay in pre-op so I could get what I had out of my system and stayed a bit late for me to do the surgery. Everything else was just fine.
  4. Geeez....I needed that! Thank oh soo much for the kinda swift kick in the behind. I like the fact that a it's from a guys point of view too. I have a bunch of girlfriends, but no guy friends going through the same thing. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Heather
  5. Can we all just get along.....and have SEX.....LOL. Whew what a thread!
  6. You would really question someone on their post?? Who cares if the chick had sex right out of surgery! Some people want it and some people don't. She was replying to the question that someone asked. If you don't believe it then move on to the next question, why start a "I don't think your telling the truth thing". ...Good Luck to ya.
  7. I had mine done at Kaiser here in So Cal. NO! on painted toes and nails. Other people might say it's o.k., but I personally would NOT have it on ( including clear) in case they have a problem with it. I didn't want to jeopardize anything. I made an appointment for manni and ped about 1 1/2 weeks after the surgery....I really looked forward to it and it felt good. Just my opinion. Good Luck

    Sipping Vs Gulping

Well cool if you can do that. I work as an Dental office Manger and sit pretty much all day too. I gave myself 3 weeks off. I really wanted to let my body heal ( and some of my mind too...LOL). You do whats good for you, but keep up the good work, so excited for you!
  9. Drink as much as you can! I never did the 64 oz's down, but I did my best. Try ice cold, or try room temp to find out which tastes better to you. But always keep drinking.....you get tired of it, but it's sooo important. When you pee if it's light yellow your doing good, if it's dark put some more effort into it. Also s/f popcicles help too. Good luck

    Sipping Vs Gulping

Welcome back Missy! Sipping is better for a bit more ( like a couple (2) of weeks). It really hurt me when I took a gulp or drank anything down really fast. Remeber it's a new baby tummy!
  12. I tell people that I think ( sometimes I'm not always right) that are mature enough to handle and or deal with information about it. I work in a dental office. Before my surgery I was telling everyone ( looking for approval and or support cause I was so damn scared). Not really the best move. Don't get me wrong, a lot of people were curious and supportive. Then I had co-workers and patients who were definitely not. Now, after the surgery....I don't share anything really with the co-workers who were unsupported ( and mean) and for the patients that will come back for appts.....not that interested in what they have to say about anything about me. I will keep it about their appt only and let them know I'm fine ( but noooo information). Now when someone comments about how great I'm looking I try to asses whether or not to say anything...it's my business. If someone is truly mature enough and seems very interested then I'll tell them. If I know that they are shallow and just want to know what I'm doing? I just say good ole diet and exercise and smile and walk away. It case by case. You do get to find out a little more about people then you want when having this surgery. It' good and bad.
  13. I was on 8 meds for my diabetes ( 4 meteformin-4 glipizide) everyday and 3 b/p meds, chols med. Now I'm on (1) meteformin and my vitamins and that's it.Hoping to come off my (1) meteformin soon.
  14. Hi, I'am having some issue's with chicken and turkey all of a sudden. I was told that I can have them in chunkier pieces and then chew really well. Well yesterday I had a Orowheat sandwich thin (1/2 of it) toasted. I spread some humus on it and then put sliced ( thin) no salt turkey on it (maybe 1 3/4 oz). Started to eat and MAN all of the sudden felt like a brick was trying to go down. It lasted about 15 min. I felt like I wanted to throw up, but didn't. It did pass. Anyone else having something like this? I really didn't think that I stuffed it down my down. Oh! on Monday I had the same thing happen with chicken....go figure! I wish I figure this out so I don't hurt my new stomach.

    Having A Hard Time Emotionally

Oh yeah did I feel like that plus some.I actually burst out crying when my husband had a turkey burger ( at about day 6). Man the tears came sliding down. I'm at day 45 and although it does get a bit better emotionally ....I still have these up and downs. Not as harsh, but I do. We have to have a somewhat of a funeral for how we used to be able to eat. We have to say our goodbye's....I don't think we'll ever "get over it". But it will get better. As my Dr. says right now your in an emotional storm....hang it there honey"! Ride it out sista!

    Plethora Of ?s

At the stage your in I was not counting calories. The only thing I was concerned with was where I was supposed to be protein wise ( you must ask your Dr. or Nut to verify this for YOUR protein needs, not just some random number) and hydration ( which is 64 oz or as close as you can). When I started my full liquids, soft food (or mushy) stage is when I went on MyfitnessPal and started tracking. I am constantly in contact with my Nut and bariatric team to ask questions about what I'm doing ( hey that's why we paid the big bucks for the operation). I do look for help here too, but not when it comes to specific amounts of protein or carbs or calories....that is for my team of Dr.'s to tell me based on my height and weight and stuff that they know about me. Good Luck!
  22. I just had a three week stall and I'm 6 1/2 weeks out from surgery. Since my surgery ( June 25th) I've lost 31 lbs. This past two days I've lost again. I started to walk and drink all my 64 oz of liquids and try and eat a little more. Right now I'm eating about 800 cal a day. This stall sucked, but what ya gonna do. It pretty much happens to everyone I guess. Glad to know I'm not alone. Good luck!

Cleared For "real Food"... Now What?

Yeah I'm real picky about seafood too. Beef, even though I miss having a hamburger, it's just not worth it to have right now. The Doctors said that it's very hard to digest and that's why they want us to wait. I know it's healthier not have too.
  24. You know what....we all whine...don't worry about it! Yeah I think that in a few months someone else will come on with the same issue and we will be able to talk them off the ledge too. It is nice to be able to say...WTF and have some support! When we get through this we will pass it forward! Have a blessed day!
