Thanks for the info - I was able to get into my doc this morning, I was way too tight, the Fluid actually was pushing itself out of the band - then went and did a barium test so all seems good now. Just have to get my throat now healed up cause it's still a little irritated, but i can drink a lot faster than I could before so THATS a great sign. Liquids for another day and hopefully it will resolve the issue.

For me, if i feel I am getting stuck a hot drink seems to help.
with that being said, if you are cautious stuck episodes are far and few in-between. ive had my band for a year and been fully stuck (having to bring it back up) 2-3 times total - all in which i either ate too fast or ate too big of a bite, or both.

First and foremost, I am sorry you are going thru the emotions of leaving your BF, however, from what you said about the verbal/emotional abuse, it is also a good thing you knew to leave him because you along with every other person that deals with an abusive relationship deserves so much more in a relationship.
The question I raise as you spoke about needing the surgery, in the same comment you made a statement that you were able to lose weight and sustain there - how did you lose that weight? What was the driving factor that made you stop losing weight?
I get that everyone struggles with weight, and for those that this lap band procedure is needed for, I encourage those to look into it and get it. However, I would never encourage someone to purposely gain weight, to increase their BMI simply to have the surgery, especially if they are already in a state of being considered overweight.
I'm not saying what you are doing is wrong to do, I'm just more concerned on gaining weight while you are already unhappy, which will only make you more unhappy. There had to be something that allowed you to lose the weight that you originally lost - for me, I always look at a promise I made to my father (may he rest in peace) and it is that promise that keeps me going in those days I want to give in or give up. Most folks need something like that, something to hold onto and know this is the reason they are doing it (outside of just to be "healthier") in order not to give up. At least in my personal opinion...

I use Syntha-6 by BSN it is higher in fat and carbs but it also doesn't have that chalky aftertaste.
They also have a "Dessert" line which is yummy (but expensive)
I like to mix my vanilla with light Turkey Hill Peach Mango juice and then blend in some frozen fruit
I do the same with chocolate as well. chocolate I will mix berries in, the vanilla I mix tropical fruit (pineapples, mango, papaya etc.)
Note: Tropical fruit adds more sugar. So if watching sugar, I would keep with the berries.
Syntha 6 line and Dessert line have betwee 22-24g of Protein per scoop.

I agree completely to just do it. However, I also don't regret waiting as long as I did.
I think my "Just Do It" is more - if you have done your research, know what to expect/not to expect - have tried other things and it simply does not work, then just do it - I don't think WLS should be the first answer in my opinion, I think it is more so meant for those folks that need that help, if you don't need the help, can lose the weight without the surgery, I think it's important to give that a try.
However I also haven't meant anyone that's had WLS that didn't give years of diets a try or didn't look into what WLS is all about etc.

all bands are stitched to muscle once it is in place - you can actually youtube the lapband procedure as a whole to see exactly what they do with the surgery (something I actually watched before I had the surgery myself, as I am someone that needs to know exactly what they are going to do to me)

If you are needing a mix up on oatmeal try egg white oatmeal - it's scrumptious (in my opinion)
Cook oatmeal with Water like normal - when the oatmeal is almost done cooking add as much egg whites to the oatmeal as you want - cook the egg whites in the oatmeal - add 2 pkts of stevia, ground cinnamon and raisins

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the opinions and suggestions, I think I am first going to try increasing my greens (which I severely suck on - so anyone with good greens recipes, feel free to share lol!) and lowering my carb intake to see if that helps in the next two to three weeks. If I don't see a difference I might have to look at decreasing my sugar intake from the fruits as well that I am taking it.
I guess it's a matter of a playing around game until I see what works unfortunately.

    Thanks all for your opinions.
I know definitely I need a fill - like I said, I've yet to be in the green zone, I just was more curious what to expect once I'm there - since my metabolism is so fast with all my exercising and because of all my exercising I've constantly been dropping weight fast and the fat around the band disappears so it's never getting restricted.
I was concerned that once I was at the green zone, because my metabolism is so fast that I wouldn't be able to judge the same way that the doctors tell you (5-6 hours satiety)
Again, thanks for everyones input I know one day I will get to the green zone, until then I will kick my butt at the gym, and just look forward to the pounds falling off once I'm in the green zone even more so.

GodsTyro reacted to cheryl2586 in Question with eating every 5-6 hours
I choose not to have my band so tight that I can't eat breakfast. I eat every two to three hours and it's fine. I don't think any doctor would tell you that you have to go five to six hours without any food. I have done well. You can't do what everyone else is doing. Just do you.

GodsTyro got a reaction from pastor o in Question with eating every 5-6 hours
Okay, so once you are in the green zone you are full for every 5-6 hours, and even then most folks it seems can only handle a Protein shake in the morning (if they eat anything at all), something light in the afternoon, and then a "real" meal in the evening.
My question is, health wise, we are suppose to be keeping our metabolism going constantly, which means eating Breakfast (especially since it's the most important meal of the day), and eating every 2-3 hours after that to constantly feed your metabolism and keep your energy up as well as the fat burning molecules that it consists of.
So if we are suppose to do this, how is being in the green zone considered "healthy" - honestly, I'm losing weight and have no interest in being in the green zone - the lap band is helping me while I still kick my butt at the gym and still get hungry every 2-3 hours.
My normal meal consists of Every 2-3 hours doing the following
    Breakfast
    Protein Shake
    lunch
    Protein Shake
    dinner
I still eat smaller portions. This isn't be downing the green zone by any means, i'm just generally curious how it can be considered healthy when so many doctors have proven keeping your metabolism going every 2-3 hours by fueling it is healthy.
This might just possibly be a question for the doctor but worth a shot asking on here.

Normally you are good to exercise ( but not extensive) after 5-6 weeks, but after surgery you should still be walking around some to avoid blood clots.
They normally say to exercise after doctor approval, and your first follow up is normally 5-6 weeks after the surgery

GodsTyro got a reaction from Erin O'Donnell in I want to be a runner
If you set a goal, don't give yourself a time frame to meet it - you just set yourself up for failure otherwise.
My goal was to run a 5k...whenever that might be. I have one scheduled for November, but the nice thing is most 5k you can choose to walk if need be too.
I'm still getting there but below is what I started with.
First, got the couch to 5k app
If you haven't worked out in a long time and just starting out, I suggest for at least 1-2w weeks only walking at an incline of at LEAST 2.0 and a speed of 3.0 (or a speed that has you walking at a decent pace that keeps your heart rate in the fat burning zone). On top of the treadmill, I suggest the elliptical for 30 minutes. Both of these will help you build a little muscle to be able to begin using the above couch to 5k app.
Start with day 1 and repeat the weeks as much as you need to. For me, by week 4 I've had to switch it up a bit. I couldn't get thru running 5 straight minutes, which told me I needed more leg muscle. So I changed up my routine and started walking at a 8.0 incline at 3.0 mph to build the leg muscle. The 2nd week I would jog 30 seconds, walk one minute- and do this for 20 minutes at that same incline of 8.0
Now I switch it up depending upon my workout and what I need- sometimes I will for 15minutes do the 8 incline and just walk it, then drop to the 2.0 incline and jog long periods of time with short walking breaks.
Learning to control your breathing is also going to help you a lot.
My routine now a days is treadmill (walk/run at a certain incline depending upon what I have going on) for at LEAST 30 minutes, then I do the stairmaster at a level 4 for 30 minutes (approx. 1300 steps- another great way to build some leg muscle), then if I decide to stay for another 30 I either go back to the treadmill or do the elliptical.
Tuesdays and Thursdays I take it easier on cardio, but I have my personal trainer as well those days.
It is important not to push your body HARD everyday in cardio- especially when building endurance. It needs "easy" days, so listen to your body when it needs that but make sure you have at least two easy cardio days
Hope this helps :-) I'm still working on getting to jogging (want to run tho) a 5k but in about two months I've managed to be able to complete a 5k in about 49 minutes- hoping to drop that time down a lot by November.
