  1. Your story is very similar to mine - I ear very healthy - just started drinking things like Vitamin WAter because my NUT advised it. My problem was also a HUGE appetite! Good luck!
  2. HI everyone! I was sleeved on Tuesday - feeling really good since then. Getting all my liquids in - but this morning I have a very odd metal taste in my mouth. Any ideas? Has anyone had this? Thank you
  3. Wow - that's a lot of weight in 16 weeks - good for you - must feel wonderful
  4. I noticed you're a lightweight too - have you lost 12lbs in 6 weeks?
  5. Great read - I'm going in Nov. 20th!
  6. You look amazing! Great job!
  7. Congratulations! 28 lbs is great!!! I'm getting sleeved on Nov. 20. On here looking for learning and what to expect!
  8. thank you klscott! I really appreciate everyone being so helpful. What is your day to day like the first month or so?? I'm a little nervous about doing my surgery a month before Christmas...
  9. That's my doctor! I'm getting sleeved on Nov 20th. I've heard great things about him. I'm so nervous - are you doing well? Was there any pain? I"m thinking I'll take off a week from work. I am 5'3" and 202 right now hoping to drop 60-70 lbs. So excited to hear input from someone else regarding Dr. B and share your experience!!! OMG I want to know everything
  10. That's my doctor! I'm getting sleeved on Nov 20th. I've heard great things about him. Were you on a pre-op diet? I'm talking to Stephanie today about diet but need to get some parameters from her before 11.20. I'm so nervous - are you doing well? Pain? Still at the hospital? OMG I want to know everything
  11. I'm so glad I found this - I am also worried about this. I get headaches to the point of them becoming migraines when i don't eat and that has me SO worried. My surgery is scheduled for 11/20 and honestly that's one of my biggest concerns. I appreciate the input from everyone and WILL cut out the caffeine - that's a really good point! I'm not on a pre-op diet (other than restrict carbs) I think it's because I'm hovering at 202-205 right now...but maybe if I start some of the changes now it will be easier after surgery! Thank you again!
  12. Congratulations Pam! I'm planning my sleeve for September/October 2012. Do you sit or walk around for work? I'm planning to go back after 5 days and am a little concerned...but I sit all day pretty much at my desk. Great weight loss for one week!
  13. I tried Isagenix. Let me tell you that after doing Medifast 4 years ago (and losing 40 lbs) I would say that is a MUCH better route to go in terms of taste. Granted, I went back to bad habits and gained everything back...BUT, Isagenix tastes HORRIBLE - AWFUL - DISGUSTING. Do you notice I really say what I mean? The shakes are terrible - the liquid you take for a whole day long (it's a fast liquid) is awful. I'm sure it works - but really any good diet works. The issue is always keeping it off for those of us who are not sleeved. Check out the blog for the world according to eggface. The SEI Protein is AWESOME - DELISH - YUMMY! And it has a ton less carbs than Isagenix. If you were close to me (Northwest Arkansas), I'd give you all my Isagenix stuff - I have a whole $300 worth of products I won't drink!
  14. Wow - that was a great post! Thank you so much - you've also given me a ton of motivation to do the sleeve vs. RNY. What kind of complete life changes have you made that have helped you KEEP it off after the sleeve - I have heard it's easier to gain back with VSG than with RNY. Thanks!
  15. Thank you for sharing your experience. For those of us who are still in the planning process of getting our surgery it's SUPER helpful to hear other's stories!
  16. I'm still in the planning phase - no surgery date but my appt. date with the doctor is in 3 weeks. Cleo - my dad has always battled his weight - he is now 72 and still has up months and down months. The only way to stay down (which is still overweight but not obese) is for him to literally eat nothing but fish/chicken and vegetables... My biggest issue is cravings - I can portion control all day long but at night I fall off the wagon. I'm 41 and have been thinking and planning to do this for over a year now - but I get a lot of "you don't need to do it" because I'm 200 and hide it relatively well...65 lbs overweight is a LOT of extra weight on my bones and my heart though. It's going to start showing in my health pretty soon and I'm NOT ok with that. So glad I found this board!
