  3. Yes. I actually started a while back with my PCP. After my first visit with the surgeon, i was told that I must start all over because the visit had to be for 6 consecutive months. So far I've only had one diet visit my second is in a few weeks.
  4. Hi, im at the beggining too. Hoping to be sleeved by early next year as well. Best wishes to you
  5. Welcom Kim! I think you' ve found the right place to talk to people that are going thru the same. I'm relatively new myslef and still at the beginning stages of getting sleeved. Don't just stop here check around the site. You'll find that people have some of same issues, concerns, good stuff , not so good stuff about WLS. when i forst joined in June I thought it was gonn be "Just another site where people tell their business and it would be of no interest to me. I was wrong, 2 1/2 months later I'm still here and learning stuff too. It's all here any question and great answers. Best wishes to ya!
  6. WOW!! There is sooooo much to this whole process. Anyone who says that this surgery is taking the easy way out wieght loss should be slapped AND HARD TOO. It takes a lot of work to have to deal with the medical insurance and the medical staff. This is all before we deal with the surgery itself. I'm glad HeyHer asked the question because I found out some good info from the answers.
  7. I's soory she's acting like that towards you. I really wouldn't want ot connect with a friend like that agian even after you lose the weight. First it foremost is says that she's not really your friend at all. Good for you for not dealing with that foolishness anymore. you need all your time and effort to go towards your new life of healthy living. Good riddens to her and GOOD LUCK TO YOU!
  8. Late night TV and eating a lot of the wrong type of snacks was my thing today I still don't eat a lot till this day but unfortunately all of the stuff at a packed on the fat. I chose to sleep because of the results i've seen on others n what I've been reading n researching this is magnificent for me. one other important thing that helped me to make my decision is that I have not heard too many people complain about having a whole lot of excess skin like you may have from the gastric bypass surgery
  9. THERE REALLY IS! Everyone gave good advice. Continue to try your very best. it will definitely help in the long run good luck to you I know its tough
  10. Please don't let other people stop from doing from doing what is best for you, your husband included . Often times people want us to do with seems to be best for them and what they think. I have diabetes borderline high blood pressure and I've been fat for most of my life. Even though eating is easy gaining weight, seeing it on your body and not being able to take it off that easily is very hard . Surgery isn't easy either. I'm sorry your husband is not supporting you but there are people here on this site that will be some of your greatest supporters and biggest fans for making a great life choice .
  11. Im 5'4 also. I've been a fat girl for most of my life sobmy goal weight is not even close to 125, even though the medical world would like for me to be something close to that. Currently i weigh 264. My goal weight is 170-180. I still want to have some meat on my bones
  12. this is great and so on point. I love a great sense of humor and your post not says a lot of the same things that some of us hate about being fat but its funny too. thanks
  13. I love this site! Its great to see ppl being supportive of complete strangers. I will definately watch ur videos. It takes a lot of courage to share ur up n downs about weight issues.
  14. Best wishes to you and I hope you have a speedy recovery
  15. Im in the same boat. I see the surgeon for the first time on Friday and have ot wait for other clearance as well. I decide to challenge myself to a 24 hour liquid diet just today. So far I've had plenty of water, a strawberry banana shake by atkins, tomato soup for lunch and Im gonn try another protein shake later and more water than I can stand. Thanks for the tip about optifast I'll try that at a later date. This whole process is definately a huge lifestyle change. Best wishes to ya
  16. I have decided to tell the people that are in my life on a daily basis, my husband, my son, best friends & fam. I haven't shared at work yet not sure if I will either. I mean they will know that I'm out for a medical reason when the time comes but not quite sure I'll go into detail. I think you should share when and if you want to. Your main support person is on board and that's waht counts
  17. Its great that your doing well! I learn and take in new information each time i visit this site. Thanks for this part " I don't keep a scale at home. I want the amount to be a surprise, and I want to gauge where I am in the process by how I'm feeling about myself, not by the numbers on some stupid torture instrument. Had enough of that." I think I'll keep a scale free zone at home too.
  18. Your play by play of your surgery day was magnificent!!! Funny and inspiring all at once.
  19. Im sorry ur goin thru so much all at once. Try you spend as much time as you can with your mom. Each day you spen with her spend it as if itsyour last. That way if God decides that its time for her to be at peace while your in surgery, you may not feel as if you didnt geta chance to say goodbye. I wish you the best and i hope that all your sorrows begin to ease up a little
  20. I stayed in yesterday as well. My husband asked me to meet him to see the fireworks but i declined because it takes forever to get dressed beacuse I gotta tuck everything from my boobs to my stomach! Being fat really sucks so much right now!! I wish my area had a clothes swap group for pre-surgery folks cuz i sure aint about to buy anymore either.
