  1. Ok. So I think I might have finally decided to go through with the surgery. Is it possible for me to ask for positive stories? I want to hear the happy outcomes. I hear to many bad/scary ones.
  2. Glad ur ok! Yes, bright red is a good sign. Most likely a hemroid. I'm not a doctor, but my dad is, so that's who I asked to give you my opinion. And I know from 3 pregnancies about hemroids! TMI.
  3. Glad to hear you are doing better! So far, I chickened out. My surgery was supposed to be 9/11. I got scared from reading many scary stories. Still trying to decide what to do. I'm 34 years old. I've been 70-90 pounds overweight the last 13 years. It's time for a change!
  4. It wouldn't be bright red if it was coming from your stomach. Bright red means fresh. It's most likely a hemroid or an anal fissure (tear- from straining) , but just to be sure, call your doc.
  5. You look great! Although I chickened out from other peoples posts and decided to not have the surgery ;( Too scared!
  6. I'm pre op but was wondering the same. It was on Dr. Oz last week too. I have thin hair from having children, and I am very worried I will become bald after surgery as I can't afford to lose anymore hair. I was thinking about buying it, especially after Dr. Oz endorsed it on his show.
  7. Sorry you had problems!! Did your doctor do anything pre op to prevent clots? My surgeon gives you blood thinners right before surgery, and right after. He also puts on mechanical boots to keep the blood flow moving in your legs. He also makes you walk, and do special breathing excercises right after.
  8. Sorry Iggy. What did the say happened?
  9. So was the surgery terrible? I'm looking for reassurance (hopefully). I'm so scared. And to top it off, a poor woman posted a horror story on my wall, so I'm even more freaked out now.
  10. Iggy- so sorry you are going through that. I wish you a speedy recovery. Get well soon!
  11. Thanks Dorie!! I think I'm just working myself up. I've had my gallbladder removed, and 3 c-sections so I'm no stranger to surgery. For some reason- maybe because this is elective- I'm scared. If I had a crystal ball that said all will be well, I'd do it in a second. It's the not knowing that scares me.
  12. Thanks everyone. I just have to get past my of fears of something going wrong. I trust my surgeon completely. I just don't want to become a statistic. Im just scared something will go wrong, and that I did it to myself. Glad you all happy happy stories! I hope I will be able to share the same.
  13. I'm just so scared! I don't know what's wrong with me. Lol. I have 3 kids, and I have a terrible fear something will go wrong. I know fear is normal, but I don't know how to get past it. Ughhhh.
  14. M on the verge of being sleeved on 9/11. Scared to death! Was it worth the risk?
  15. Lol. Great to hear. The only thing that stinks is I'm going to be in Little Italy in NY and won't be able to eat. Ughhhh. Great timing on my part.
  16. I'm scheduled for surgery on 9/11. I'm supposed to fly to NY from FL on 10/12 for my cousins wedding. I have to go. Will I be ok 4 weeks out? Or should I change my surgery date til after?
  17. I'm on 9/11 if I don't chicken out first. LOL
  18. I got 9/11. What a day to be put under. I'm scared to death.
  19. Why can't I see the manual? No link is there?
  20. I'm on the same boat. I'm schedule 9/11. I'm petrified. I think "what if" I'm the one who has the horror stories, and If so, I did this to myself. My other option is staying fat. Ughhhh. My anxiety is killing me. I just want to get it over and done with,
  21. Good luck! Please let is pre sleeves know how it went. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!
  22. Glad u did great! Congrats! Please keep us pre-opers posted. I'm so nervous that I need to see the good endings! Lol.
  23. What's a stricture and how common is it? I guess something else for me to worry about.
  24. I'm really confused about the food stages. I'm pre-op obviously. The first 2 weeks I'm on full liquids, then solids. I was told solids mean purée? I can image purée 'ing meats. Yuck!
  25. I'm in the same boat. Scheduled for 9/11. I believe this is the best choice for me, but I'm having a hard time getting past my anxiety.
