Hi everyone! I'm new here! Just wanted to introduce myself!
I'm Sylvia, 31 years old and married to a great guy for a year and half!
I am scheduled to have my lap band surgery on July 2, 2012.... just a week and a half away!! I'm super excited! (Though I'm on my 3rd day of all liquids and struggling!)
I weighed 297 when I first went to Dr Greene a couple months ago, and I'm currently at 284 (as of this morning!).
Would love to connect with some of you to help me stay on track on this journey!
Would starting a blog or video blog be helpful?

i'm on july 2! its at noon, so i'm going home the same day.
i'm currently on day 4 of my 2 weeks of liquid diet. not easy, but i'm surviving!
excited to get this done!

My husband has been supportive, but was a little worried at the beginning. Thankfully he came with me to the information seminar. There, he was able to see how simple it was and all the benefits and talk to the dr too. Try to get him to go with you so he can see what its about. tell him its just information and that you're not making a decision, but just getting info on the option. when it comes down to it, you will be losing naturally, because the band is just a tool to help you stay on track with your diet... its not a cure and you can eat anything later.
as for the skin... i've freaked out about that too. looking at youtube vids about it, has not helped! lol! i have stopped doing that. and honestly, i've seen people lose weight without surgery and they still have excess skin... so its about your body and how it will do to losing weight, period. right now, i try not to worry about that,since there's always surgery for that later if needed! and by the way... on biggest loser, they lose without surgery and they always have extra skin! thats why near the end of the season, they always start using tight stretchy shirts instead of the sports bras from the beginning!

i'm on day 3... its hard hard hard! but i'm so afraid of my liver not being shrunk enough that i'm trying to remain faithful! i keep thinking of the end product... it will be worth it!

Its hard, no doubt. My doctor only required me to do the Sugar Buster's diet. I had a five day liquid diet after surgery, a week of creamy, and a week of mushy. I don't know why doctor's are so different. I know the purpose of the Sugar Buster's diet (2 weeks) is to shrink your liver.
I know that Protein makes all the difference in the world. (I'm going to change my name to Ms. Protein because I preach about it all the time) What kind of liquids are on your diet? Can you have creamy Soups? Maybe a puree'd sweet potato with lots of low fat milk, splenda and cinnamon?
It will be worth it, this I know for sure.

Mine is July 3rd, (still waiting from insurance approval tho) but so excited.. Can wait to start my jurney.. Lets keep everybody updated and motivated with all the results..
