Are You "out" About Your Band?

I have been very open about making the band. Posted in on Facebook, told all my friends, shouted it from the rooftops (you get the idea). It's just made life easier for me, and people have been extra nice knowing I've recently had surgery

    Today's The Big Day!

It went really well! All I've heard is that I won't "really feel much like eating at first". When I woke up, I could've eaten a horse (slow cooked and marinated of course)...haha. It was great though, I was very happy with the surgical staff. They were mega-awesome!

    1 Day To Go

What a long strange trip it's been! In less than 24 hours the slicing and dicing will begin! I thought I'd be more nervous, but with all of information I've received from the True Results people, all of the posts in the forums, and all the other random reading I've been doing I really feel like I have a pretty good handle of what's in store for me. I'm sure when I wake up tomorrow morning I'll be singing a different tune, but for now, I'm just excited and anxious to get this part over with so I can get started on the rest of the journey. Well, I hope today goes by fast so I can get to the big day tomorrow!

    Last Supper B4 Pre-Op Diet?

The weekend before my preop diet began, I drank every beer in sight and ate everything battered and fried I could get my hands on (which was conveniently at the same bar!). Been on the protein shakes ever since and it hasn't been so bad. I'm glad I was able to have that epic weekend before the real work begins.

    Day 6 Preop

Today was a pretty good day. I made my turkey chili and it wasn't bad at all. I was pretty scared of it cuz...well....ground turkey sure isn't ground beef, but it turned out okay. Incredients: ground turkey, black beans, onion, minced garlic, tomato, chile powder, one of those chile seasoning mixes (I forget the brand), bell peppers, corn, salt, pepper, oregano, and hot sauce. It was pretty good! It was really heavy too, so I decided to get a little work out in after. Didn't feel like going to the gym so I just hopped on the kinect and played my Zumba Fitness demo and man oh man, do I really need to work on my merengue pump...lol! After, I decided to have a quick snack and grabbed a yogurt. Just for fun, I checked out the back of the label after the fact, and I had no idea how much sugar/carbs was in that little cup of yoplait (strawberry something or other). Needless to say, I'll be back to no snacking. We're all entitled to a little slip, so I'm not concerned. It's fight night - time to watch Ortiz v Lopez!

Just got back on it: LLCoolNoe
  13. 1: Sit in a booth at a restaurant 2: Do a pullup 3: Dunk on somebody (I'm not a huge basketball fan/player, but I've always wanted to do this) 4: Take a jog around the neighborhood without feeling self-conscience 5: Be shirtless in random places ("oh, I spilled my drink on my shirt...better take it off!" lol)

    My Very First Blog!

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah, it's fun to learn new recipes. I've just been googling everything since the only things I really know how to cook right now are fatty Mexican meals (good Lord I love them though) and fried foods.

    My Very First Blog!

So here I am...blogging. It's day five of my pre-op diet and I'm really excited. There have been some temptations along the way, but I've been able to keep them at bay. I feel VERY lucky though, as my diet isn't quite as strict as others I've seen. I'm on 2 protein shakes a day (breakfast, lunch) and then a healthy dinner (moderate amount of a protein, all the veggies I want). Not too shabby, things definitely could be worse. Luckily, this has forced me to eat things other than fast food and I'm quickly re-discovering that I LOVE my own cooking! I grilled an amazing cedar plank salmon the other day and it immediately moved into my top 5 favorite foods (sorry chimichangas, you got bumped). I've also discovered that I absolutely adore grilled asparagus and grilled zuchini. Up until last week, I have never eaten either (well, I've had fried zuchini at the bar, but I'm pretty sure that don't count ). Tomorrow, I'm gonna try my hand at turkey chili! Prior to the diet, I was honestly worried about whether or not I'd be able to do it, but if this first week is any indication, I think I'll be okay Just gotta stay focused. Well, time to soak the beans (that's not a euphamism...remember, the chili). Best of luck to everybody out there on the same journey! Remember this when tempations creeps up; nobody is making us do this, we're doing this because we love ourselves. I love me some me!

    Wow.................

    That's what's up! Git'r dun!
  17. Right there with you! Watching the game with my buddies tonight was a mistake. They had wings while I had a salad. Can't believe I fought the urge to throw their plates to the ground while yelling, "If I can't have 'em, nobody can!"
