  6. I agree with the previous posters. This surgery is for YOU. You need to focus on yourself right now and getting healthy and happy. This is your journey, nobody else's! Deal with his BS after you have recovered. Best of luck to you with the surgery (and the man!)!!!!!!!!

  9. That is awesome! Today is actually exactly 21 months since I have had a cigarette. I used the patch, which was amazing. The day will come when you won't even think about smoking. I have not craved it at all since about 3-4 months out. Cough drops and sunflower seeds were my best friends. I also kept my hands as busy as possible... I had a nice smooth little rock that i would play with just to keep my hands occupied. And if you don't succeed, try, try again. It took me several attempts before I finally did it. Look up smoking cessation forums for support- they are amazing! Best of luck to you in your journey.... you can do it!
  10. YES!!!!! This totally went through my mind. So excited for all the changes the sleeve will bring to my life. SweetTee, my date will most likely be in November too, and that is exactly how I feel! I'm a little worried about being on liquids/mushies over Thanksgiving, Christmas, AND New Year's. Sigh. It will all be worth it though, because on those holidays the year after I'll be a skinny, healthy lil beezy
  11. Welcome tabby! I am pre-op too, so I don't have any experience to share. You're doing the right thing by joining this site... the posters here are wonderful! This site has erased any doubt I had about getting sleeved. My surgery will most likely be in November, but I have already made big changes in my life thanks to the amazing posts here. Good luck on your journey
  12. Not too personal at all. Add that to my list... I wanna be on top. And look good in positions that aren't just horizontal
  13. OMG yessssssssss!!!!!!! The boots!!!!!!! I want to wear sexy knee-high stiletto boots-- I have never been able to get a pair over my fat-a@@ calves!!!! I want to get married and have children. I want to do a mud run. I want to get a massage. I want to travel. Ditto what everyone else said regarding amusement parks, fitting in places, etc. I want to live a long, healthy life.
  14. Welcome! I am pre-op, so I can't offer much help, but the vets on this site are amazing. The posters here are incredibly knowledgable, supportive, and motivating. They have great tips about everything regarding the sleeve. Best of luck on your journey!!!!!
  15. That is awesome, tmoss! I hope when I get the sleeve I can lose like you
  16. Dr. Billy in Ventura is amazing! I went to one of his seminars and he did one of my friend's lap bands.
  17. My breaking point (when I decided to start looking into surgery) happened in February when my younger brother and his wife announced their pregnancy. I am 18 months older than my brother. He has been married for 7 years and is now starting a family. At 30 (now 31) years old, I feel that I have allowed life to pass me by. I have never been in a long-term relationship. I am nowhere near getting married and having children, something I long to do very, very, very badly. I made the choice to have this surgery because I was sick of letting my weight hold me back. I will be sleeved in November, but (with the help of this amazing site) I have already begun making huge changes in my life. I am ready to love myself and to allow someone else to love me.
  18. Aaaahhhhh!!!! That is so awesome! Congrats on your success
  19. Congratulations on being sleeved! Sounds like you are recovering nicely
  20. Congratulations on being sleeved! May you have a quick recovery
  21. Congratulations!!!!! Keep up the good work, you will hit 120 before you know it!
  22. Best of luck to you as you continue to lose-- I love reading posts like this (I won't be sleeved until November). You're an inspiration!
