  1. I've heard the hospital can give you an extra gown to wear like a robe for when you walk the halls... Hope that's true!
  2. Question: Did any of you sleevers actually need a robe in the hospital!? It's on my list of suggested things to bring but I don't even own one!
  3. Have to be at hospital at 7:30 in the morning! Can't believe I'm so close to being sleeved! Excited and anxious but not scared! Ready to do this!!!!
  4. I'm getting sleeved there by Dr. Kim this Monday, 10/22. Excited, nervous, overwhelmed!!! I've lost 12 pounds in the past week but have only been on liquid diet since Tuesday! I think nerves are part of the reason - I just wasn't hungry last week and now I'm on liquids! Good luck to you!
  5. I came down with a cold the day after I had my EGD and it turned into a sinus infection. I was coughing up nasty junk! The PA at my surgeon's office gave me a 'scrip for a z-pack which cleared it up. She also suggested I take AirBorne, which is loaded with zinc. You might call your surgeon's office and see if you can take a zinc-based OTC med. If you take it during the first few days of cold symptoms, you're likely to feel better faster. But check with your surgeon first before you take anything!
  6. So I bought a cute pair of jeans on clearance a few weeks ago in hopes of being able to wear them a few weeks post-op. Wellll, I tried 'em on this morning on a whim and THEY FIT!!! wOoooot! Surgery is Monday. Can.Not.Wait.
  7. I've heard others on the board mention "Fall Fight" shampoo by Garnier.
  8. First - you are ONE HOT MOMMA!!!! And a true inspiration!!! Second - What brand of moisturizer do you use? GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!
  9. Good luck to you too!!!! Day 2 is a little better for me so far. Hang in there!!
  10. I did OK except I ate 2 Beans (not spoonfuls, just 2 individual beans) while making my daughter's dinner... I'm not too upset about it. But tonight when I was writing an essay for a class I kept thinking "I'm hungry.i should go make a sandwich". Instead I had Jello...bLeh Tomorrow I'm adding some spices to my chicken broth. Tired of sweet, pudding consistency shakes...
  11. My date is 10/22 as well... Originally was 10/25 but surgeon's office called yesterday and asked if they could move me up to 10/22 so I went for it! Ready to get this done!!!!!!!!!! But I am nervous!! Just started liquid diet today - bLech!
  12. Alright - my date has just CHANGED!!!!! I'm now getting sleeved next Monday, Oct 22 (was Oct 25 originally) Prayers going out to all the folks getting sleeved today... You're going to do great!!
  13. Surgeon's office just called to see if I can change date from Oct 25 to Oct 22. AAAAAHHH!!!! So I'm being sleeved 3 days earlier but that means I have to start liquids tomorrow!!! Excited but kinda freakin' out now!
  14. I'm excited for all of ya!!!! And my sleeve date is Oct 25 so I'm getting anxious too!
  15. All great ideas given here! I just wanted to add, if you live in a metropolitan area check out continuing ed classes at a local community college. It's a great way to try out something new AND meet new people! And don't feel the least bit ashamed about bearing your soul here... That's what the board is for! So we can learn and grow together!
  16. I was just about to post the same thing!!!! You look at LEAST 20 years younger!!! GREAT JOB!
  17. I suggest that you track down the clinical policy bulletin (CPB) for obesity surgery for your specific insurance carrier. The CPB will state what the requirements are for WLS for the specific plan you will be covered under. I don't see why the insurance company won't provide that to you. I have Aetna and you can find their CPB's on their website. So maybe check the website for your specific carrier. Or, if you feel comfortable asking about it, check with your HR department and see if they can get the CPB for you.
  18. low-sodium string cheese or cheese stick wrapped with thin sliced ham or turkey!
  19. How awesome!!! So cool that you both had the surgery... Great job!!
