Sleeve 2.5months before wedding?
Where do you live? How long a flight to Ireland ? What is your weight ? How old are you? All of these components add into the mix. Are you having a big wedding that you will be very busy preparing for? If so, some don't feel too well the first month. A lot to think about for your big day.

Diabetic Sleevers?
I was diagnosed as diabetic 15 yrs ago. 2 yrs before surgery I was on 150 units of insulin daily plus 2000 mg metforin. I also was told not to take anything if numbers under 150. When that did not last I added back metforin. Then insulin. I take same metforin and 30 units before bed. At least not taking 4 shots a day and testing 4 times a day. Endo seems to think it will improve as I loose more weight. I would like to friend you so we can learn from. Each other during this journey. Best of luck.

Only down 1 lb. 4 days post-op. Am I going to be a slow loser?
Cococoocon, First of all you are what we call a light weight and will not drop weight as fast as heavier people. 40 lbs in the first month is very ambicious. Try to concentrate more on how you feel and how your clothes fit. Best of luck.

Curiosity on your appearance
Don't be afraid. I am. 66 years old and weighed 275. My diabetes was out of control. I was on 150 units of insulin. Now 5 1/2 months later, I am down 66 lbs and only take 30 units of insulin. Have also been able to drop 4 medications. This is a life or death opportunity. And I chose life. I am very lucky. If you have any questions just PM me and I will be glad to answer them.

1 week post ops
Isopure liquid in a bottle is a lot better than those powdered shakes, they are horrible. You can get the no carb isopure at the vitamin shoppe. 20 oz bottles is 2 servings. I prefer the punch flavor.

Crushing meds
Same as rickyswife. I wasted my money on a crusher also. I even swallowed metforin and just cut it in half and it is a large pill.

Has anyone started to eat more since they've got there surgery date?
I had food funeral after food funeral the last month before my pre op diet. All my favorite restaurants all my beloved food. I did and I was glad. But when I started my 2 week liquid diet I did not cheat once. It is getting harder to not go back to old ways the further out ÿou get. At almost 6 months I can eat almost everything and the restriction is not as good. Do whatever you feel is right for you. It's your journey!!!

It has saved my life, and it can save your's!
I have 2 sons that need to lose a lot of weight. They are 400 plus lbs. I watch when we get together the amount of all the wrong foods they choose. It breaks my heart and I worry so about them. My middle son was only about 40 lbs overweight and he had a heart attack at 31 yrs of age. He ate all the right foods most of the time and this happened to him. The other two are a time bomb waiting to go off. Am so glad you were smart enough to take this step. I did it at 66 yrs of age. My diabetes had got to the point of 150 units of insulin a day and metforin. I am down to 30 units now. No longer a human pin cushion. Only have to test my blood once a day and and take insulin once instead of 4 times a day. Best of luck to you on your journey. It is a trip .

Family Gathering
I had surgery Nov 28. Need I say more. Skipped all the Xmas parties. Had my family Thanksgiving weekend before pre-op diet. I just stayed home and never felt like I missed anything. I went to my granddaughter's birthday on Dec 4 and could only look at all the food they were eating. I drank water. So needless to say I could not do all the other parties. Much, much too hard for me.

is it just me.. and when?
