  1. It's normal for the body to stall in an effort to get used to all the changes. Have patience...sounds like your doing well!!
  2. I had a port replaced as well (due to a kinked tube which he decided to just replace the entire port). It was really no big deal. Recovery is not at all like the first surgery. I was sore for a few days and that was it. No gas pains...no body aches. It was fine. I know it's a complication no one wants to endure but it is an easy fix. No worries and good luck!
  3. First of all congrats on your incredible weight loss. Very impressive! If you knew then that you would still feel this way after shedding the weight...would you still have done it? My brother asked me before surgery if I was losing the weight to feel better about myself or beautiful.....I said NO...I always felt good about myself. He said, then you won't be disappointed when you get there and still feel the same about yourself. I listened to him very closely...and he was right. Good luck on your journey sweet pea.
  4. I get frustrated with the "bouncing of the scale" as well. I do feel like my head is starting to catch up with my body finally. It helps that my loved ones show me pictures of myself at 251 (YIKES)!! Go grab some old and new pictures...you will feel like a rockstar! One thing I tell myself everyday is...I have lost 52 pounds and have "kept it off" longer than I have kept off 10 pounds in the past. I honor my decision to do this as often as I can. We may never get to that PERFECT scale weight but honestly.....what is perfect? Today...I vow to feel perfect right now!
  5. Many of us have posted similar frustrations....including me. The wise bandster's that went before me really helped me understand that PATIENCE is key. Keep bringing the effort, staying within your calories allotted, play by the rules and you will get results. One thing the bandster's before me pointed out was that I had to get the thought of losing weight quickly out of my head. It's not that kind of surgery and things would progress slowly...but progress nonetheless. Your clothes are loose......progress/success! Congrats!
  6. Hunger back with a vengeance Day 9?? Yup...that sounds right. Welcome to Bandster Hell. This is the time to be very diligent with tracking your foods and getting in your protein. Your on the upside of feeling better.....everyday will get better. Hang in there.
  7. This journey is all about you! This is your time for real change. I suspect your weight is not the only thing that will be changing in this situation. His loss......
  8. Yes your hard work paid off big time! I too am in "onderland" and it feels awesome to be here!
  9. That's a lot of weight in a short period of time! Congrats on your new mobile body!
  10. Hmmm......keep drinking your liquids. Lots of liquids...all the time. Having water, Crystal Light...something in your hand at all times. Truth is I was always hungry on the liquid diet. You can do this......
  11. Yes I had FroYo on mushies...I just counted it in my calorie counter. It was a nice treat.
  12. For me...sometimes it's one meal at a time. You can do this.....patience is the key!
  13. I can relate to this. I never loved or hated to shop. But I knew I could go and find the size I needed and call it a day. Now I obsess with trying things on.....does it fit, does it not....will it be too big in a few weeks.....is it too small to wear now? It's a constant battle. But the upside is that the clothes are smaller and cheaper!! Congrats on your amazing success!
  14. ...finally made it to "Onederland"?? This girl! I have been working to get down under 200 for weeks!! I really thought it would never happen. But with this last fill and kicked up exercise.....I finally made it! And it feels GOOD! When stuck at a certain weight....keep plugging along......keep working it......it will eventually start moving. Never give up!

  17. Love this!! Thanks for sharing. At the end of the day...it is only US who will fully accept and change the things we really already know about ourselves! xoxxo
  18. Yes this is normal. I was very fatigued for about 10 days post op. Your body is recovering....sleep is the perfect remedy for that. Be nice to yourself.
  19. My rock bottom was when I couldn't fit in a rollercoaster with my 11 year old. I had to get off the ride. I was mortified and so was he (he wouldn't ride if I couldn't go). I knew right then and there......that was IT for me. I no longer could ignore it.
  20. That is awesome. 60 lbs in a very short time. I am in awe!! Now go buy yourself something nice!!
  21. I agree. Throw the "guilt" out the window. Be proud of your awareness and action plan!!
  22. You have a great attitude! Having a good attitude is an important and key part of the journey! You'll do great!
  23. Take a deep breath and call your doc and nutritionist. They are there to help. Believe this tool can work for you.....and help it...help you.
  24. Welcome to the other side! Be good to yourself...rest, walk. sip lots of water.
  25. Take a deep breath! We all had some pre-surgery anxiety but are here to post about our banded lives. The neck and shoulder pain will be from gas that they pump your stomach with to get to your organs. Although the gas is uncomfortable....there are things you can do to ease the trapped gas feeling. I am sure they will go over all this at your pre-op appt. Recovery is quicker than you think. I felt worlds better after each day and pretty much 100% at Day 7. Hopefully your apnea clears up after some weight loss. I have read this a lot here on the forum with very little weight loss. Good luck!
