  1. Hi, I was sleeved on may 15th in Mexico at hospital jerulasm in Mexico my dr. Mario

I am happy with my sleeve, I am from Canada and flew alone! It was great. My tip is to tip the drivers and people ( not dr and nurses!)

Did you land in SanDiego the drive to TJ? I was asked oline while checking in for my flight, it wanted to know where I was staying, or if I had a connecting flight/cruise? I tried to put in mexico and it would not let me. Do I need to bring anything specific that your aware of? Coming from Canada landing is San Diego the driving to Tijuana.

  2. I did decide on Dr.Garcia, I will be at the Pueblo Amigo hotel, I have gone through Medical Tourism. Regene is my co-ordinator, she hs been great, however not located in TJ but a phone call away.

My driver called me today to confirm pick tomorrow. I am very excited.

I chose medical tourism because I decided to see a dentist during the same visit and Regene was able to get that done for me too.

I am going to pack now...very light and try to calm my nerves!!!

  3. I'm having a better day than yesterday. I keep having coughing fits which hurt, and I had a fever of 100 yesterday. I then sneezed so hard I pulled a muscle in my stomach. Tylenol is the only thing I'm allowed to take and it makes me sick so my mother found some chewable tylenol so I finally got some help.

Every day is a little better. I had my first real Protein shake today it took me a while to get 4 ounces in this morning and then another 4 ounces later.

Everyone heals at their own rate, I'm going to be slower because of the Lupus, but I'm not down about it. Yesterday the fever made me weepy, and today I feel a little better. I finally lost the surgery weight I gained and I'm down to 227.2 from 229, it's not much but I am obviously very swollen still.

I started walking in the house in a circle through kitchen, living room, dining room 20 minutes at a time, I've done it twice so far today.

The binder really has helped today.

I hope everyone is doing great, and best wishes and prayers going out to Tuesdays sleevers.

Not that it is the most pleasant but tylenol and gravol are available in suppository form. Very effective and you won't need to take so many of the chewables.< /p>

Hope you feel on top of the world soon!

  4. Naturals, thanks so much for responding. Maybe you can help me as a lay person better understand this. What would have been the issue(s) with proceeding with my esophagus swollen? Never having had this problem before, it was very frustrating. Of course, I've never been this age before. Thanks again. I'm back in the countdown position to July 9th :)

    G.

With your esophagus (eating pipe) swollen it can ultimatelly occlude completely and if the swelling were to continue it risks occluding your trachea (breathing pipe) because these two are so close together it is a very real complication and may not be evident until it is a critical situation. The fact that the Doc caught it so soon is reassuring and they will be aware for your next visit and be extra attentive. Who was your surgeon again? I hope that helps!! Talk to you soon.

  5. I know you feel badly, having a steroid prior to the actual surgery is not a good thing, it slows healing, however having swelling in your bronchus or esophagus is a bad thing too. I hope you feel comfortable that the doctors did what was in your best interest. (that was the nurse in me talking) as a fellow person waiting for a sleeve I hope you can keep yur chin up and know that you will succeed no matter what the hurdle is!!!

  6. I hope I am not alone when I talk about this, I feel a little sad but alot happy today as it is the last day of bad habits. While I look forward to a new life, a new outlook, a new healthier me. I look at the great menus as I throw them out, had a subway sandwich today (not the healthiest one either), enjoying a glass of my favorite white wine (oh ok a bottle...no not a habit just cannot waste anything) food has been there comforting me for all the ups and downs, good and bad, happy and sad. So today I am saying good bye to something that has been there for me no matter what! Seriously GOOD-BYE!! You have made me feel worse about myself, hate what I see in the mirror, you have taken away my confidence and self esteem....so yes GOOD-BYE!!
