  1. Did you land in SanDiego the drive to TJ? I was asked oline while checking in for my flight, it wanted to know where I was staying, or if I had a connecting flight/cruise? I tried to put in mexico and it would not let me. Do I need to bring anything specific that your aware of? Coming from Canada landing is San Diego the driving to Tijuana.
  2. Hello Cantwaittolose, This forum did the same thing form me. I leave for Tijuana in the morning and am so excited to get this done. I was a single mom forever and my kids are all grown and like you it is time for me. I have 100lbs to lose. Good luck to you and keep us posted. Gail
  3. Hi I was just wondering if there was anyone else going to be there. I am traveling from Canada.
  4. Hi I was just wondering if there was anyone else going to be there. I am traveling from Canada.
  5. Where will you be, my surgery is on Monday too!
  6. Thanks to you all, I am on day 3 of the liquid pre-op and I let a lack of confidence moment take hold. I agree if my MD won't support me then it is time for a new MD. I was looking for reassurance and you gave it to me. June 18th is the day!
  7. I am not sure he will be thrilled but supportive. I did not want to face scrutiny or try another conventional "diet" or read another Feel good book. So I made the decision after much research and soul searching. I have not been so sure of a decision in a long time! Taking control is what I am focusing on!!
  8. I was wondering if anyone has just gone and paid for their surgery then talk to their home GP after?
  9. I arrive on the 17th too, where are you going to be? Gail
  10. Not that it is the most pleasant but tylenol and gravol are available in suppository form. Very effective and you won't need to take so many of the chewables. Hope you feel on top of the world soon! Gail
  11. With your esophagus (eating pipe) swollen it can ultimatelly occlude completely and if the swelling were to continue it risks occluding your trachea (breathing pipe) because these two are so close together it is a very real complication and may not be evident until it is a critical situation. The fact that the Doc caught it so soon is reassuring and they will be aware for your next visit and be extra attentive. Who was your surgeon again? I hope that helps!! Talk to you soon. Gail
  12. We are sleeve sisters, surgery the same day!! I am in calgary, Alberta,Canada Going to Tijuana for my surgery with Dr. Garcia. My new life begins!!
  13. I know you feel badly, having a steroid prior to the actual surgery is not a good thing, it slows healing, however having swelling in your bronchus or esophagus is a bad thing too. I hope you feel comfortable that the doctors did what was in your best interest. (that was the nurse in me talking) as a fellow person waiting for a sleeve I hope you can keep yur chin up and know that you will succeed no matter what the hurdle is!!!
  14. I am scheduled for my sleeve on Monday the 18th of June. I heard about the sleeve in May, did a ton of research and only wish I had heard about it sooner. On that thought though everything happens for a reason and perhaps I was only ready to hear about it at that time. I will keep everyone posted.
  15. @Looking ahead, ditto to you. this is a challenge that I am ready for and the sleeve is one of my tools, talking about it will be another. I thank goodness for finding this site so I can just talk to folks who understand!
  16. I hope I am not alone when I talk about this, I feel a little sad but alot happy today as it is the last day of bad habits. While I look forward to a new life, a new outlook, a new healthier me. I look at the great menus as I throw them out, had a subway sandwich today (not the healthiest one either), enjoying a glass of my favorite white wine (oh ok a bottle...no not a habit just cannot waste anything) Food has been there comforting me for all the ups and downs, good and bad, happy and sad. So today I am saying good bye to something that has been there for me no matter what! Seriously GOOD-BYE!! You have made me feel worse about myself, hate what I see in the mirror, you have taken away my confidence and self esteem....so yes GOOD-BYE!!
  17. I will be saving this too. Thank you!
  18. I am self-pay, 3.5 weeks from final decision to date (June 18th) could have been sooner if I could have organized vacation from work sooner.
  19. My Date is June 18th......
  20. Starting mine tomorrow too!! I am using ViSalis protien/meal replacements, crystal light and a green tea powder and water too!
  21. It is so good to hear from the June sleevers who have gone so far, all seems to be going well! June 18th is coming along quickly. As everyone else is noting I too am a little nervous and anxious, glad I am normal. Good luck to the June 7th sleevers ((Hugs)).
  22. I am from Calgary, Canada and going to Mexico for July 18th. I am a little nervous and anxious but so excited too. I start my pre-op diet in 1 week, I have heard about single serving protein packets and wondered where I can buy some.
