I hope I am not alone when I talk about this, I feel a little sad but alot happy today as it is the last day of bad habits. While I look forward to a new life, a new outlook, a new healthier me. I look at the great menus as I throw them out, had a subway sandwich today (not the healthiest one either), enjoying a glass of my favorite white wine (oh ok a bottle...no not a habit just cannot waste anything) food has been there comforting me for all the ups and downs, good and bad, happy and sad. So today I am saying good bye to something that has been there for me no matter what! Seriously GOOD-BYE!! You have made me feel worse about myself, hate what I see in the mirror, you have taken away my confidence and self esteem....so yes GOOD-BYE!!

That describes how I feel lately.

But.... someone on here said recently, I guess she's a year out, that she eats much less (like a third) but there's nothing she can't have IF she wants it. We don't have to pig out. But it's nice to have in the back of our minds that if we wanted one bite someday, we could. I'm planning to be super strict for awhile to maximize that great losing time...and in that time I believe I will realize those foods weren't what I always needed- it was happiness from real, important things I needed.

I just had my last "fat meal" today too. Tomorrow starts a new life style. Excited and afraid of failing. Im watching Extreme WeightLoss on tv right now and everytime she says I can't...he says push through the fear. So, thats what Im going to do...Push, push push to a better and healthier me. Good luck to you.

hubby put in his request in yesterday for his favorite homecooked meal today. Guess it was my last too, lol. His surgery is 6/26 and mine will be 7/23. No way am I eating in this house when he can't. He actually starts his pre-op diet on Tuesday. I've been doing shakes for Breakfast, chicken broth for lunch, and a "sensible" meal for 2 weeks. I can't go cold-turkey all at once. Trying to ease my way into it. Good luck yall.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
