Walked 1.75 miles today with my daughter. There was lots of inclines on the path. My daughter commented after just a short ways that I WAS NOT huffing & puffing like I did prior to VSG!! great NSV!

I work with a personal trainer 2x/wk and try to walk 1-2 miles 2-3x/wk. No stalls so far, just slow & steady loss. Thrilled to be down 50# in just 2 1/2 months!!

Sometimes I make more shake than I can drink in one sitting. Do you just keep it in the frig & pour yourself a small glass at a time? Doesn't it separate? I've been tossing what's left over, but that seems such a waste. What do y'all do?

I want to strongly encourage you to go to therapy. Not only will it help with your relationships, more importantly it will help you through the many changes (physical, mental AND emotional) that result from WLS.

Wait to do plastics until you are at least 6-8 months after reaching your goal. In the meantime, double bra for working out.

Dr Alvarez gives you a pillow, but I didn't need it. Remember, these are laproscopic incisions, not a big long incision like with a c-section. However, I think Bed, Bath & Beyond has those squishy pillows that aren't too big.

I wore home what I wore to the hospital. Slip on shoes. Bottled Water for after discharge. Basic toiletries including Biotin mouth spray, chap stick. Did not use my Gas-X, but did have it. When walking in the hospital wore 2 gowns: one as a regular gown with the second worn as a robe. Took my shower at the hotel thursday. Arrived on a Tuesday, surgery same day, walked & walked Wednesday, discharged fairly early Thursday morning. Read a little, played a few games on my phone. Mostly walked and rested in between. Tried to keep my packing light.

I totally sympathize! I have 4 more days on full liquids, then I progress to mushies or pureed foods and right now I am so sick of liquids I could gnaw on a bone. Lol! BUT, your stomach is still very swollen. Stick to your doctor's plan. Better safe than sorry. :-P You have the rest of your life to eat & chew "real" food!

Oh I miss Ventura! Used to live there many many years ago! From there to Florida panhandle, now central Arkansas! Lived within view of the Pacific & spent many evenings walking on the pier. Lots of good memories made there!

Sounds like your cramps are part of your healing process. Give it another couple weeks & hopefully you will be feeling better.
I'm glad stuff will soon taste "normal". I miss Water, lol!

Also meant to say -Dr Alvarez is wonderful!! The whole experience was fabulous! Felt very well taken care of and Dr A was not only clinically excellent, he is very kind and has a great personality! Trust me when I say that is a rare combination (I'm a RN in hospital setting).

Self pay. I feel great!!! I had absolutely no nausea and very minimal pain (just the one incision where they pull the stomach out). Just moved up to full liquids. Protein Shake no problems, split pea Soup -too heavy. Down 30# so far! :-)

I didn't see you mention Jello. Are you allowed that? I made some homemade broth with the boxed beef broth, stew meat, dried onion Soup mix & canned tomatoes. Cooked in slow cooker for a whole day, strained the broth & froze. Nice change from what I'd been having. Tomorrow I'm straining Campbell's chicken noodle. Can't wait!

Hot Springs! Went to Dr Alvarez in Mexico. 7 days out, down 27+# including pre op!
-
Oops, saw you are over a month out! What are you able to eat?
-
I have the yucky mouth taste too! It is better if I drink something, but not everything tastes "right". Even my Jello will have an off taste some days. And Water, jeez! Tap is awful and I can tell a difference between different bottled brands! My tummy is more of a "rolling" than sour, seems worse if I haven't put anything in it for awhile. I am 7 days out, you?

Someone once told me that you lose the "surface" fat, you stall while the next layer of fat rises to the surface, you lose that layer of fat, etc., etc. It's a cycle. In my head, a stall is your body prepping for the next weight loss cycle so it is not as discouraging (speaking as one who has not stalled yet - I may sing a different tune then!). The longer the stall, the more deeper fat reserves are rising. Gonna put head games to good use!

I had my surgery 9/25 too! I am on clear liquids until Thursday, 2 weeks of full liquids, then soft/ pureed for another week. Fortunately, I am doing great getting enough in and have not had any problems swallowing my drinks! I have one sore incision that is today so much better. BUT, head hunger has ahold of me and it is really hard. Had to go to the grocery store today - boy, EVERYTHING looked & smelled yummy!! Went straight home to have my broth & Popsicle - disaster averted!! But there are some Macho Doritos that I would SO love to lick!!! I am concentrating on just my Fluid intake this week & will start on my Protein at the next stage.

I love having sugar free flavored syrups to add to my Protein shakes! They really help make them taste better. (my fav: vanilla Protein powder, PB2, almond milk, banana SF Syrup, some ice - yummy!).
I also am curious where you ordered from. My local health food store has a somewhat limited variety & I am thinking about ordering more! Thanks!
