My drain is really hurting. I want it out. My doc said that it needs to stay in for at least a week. I'm so tired, bc I can't find a good position to sleep.- Gas Pain
I feel like every time I take a sip and swallow, I hear a big gurgle noise. And it's uncomfortable. I'm guessing this is normal bc I was sleeved yesterday?- Drain
How long was your drain in? And did it hurt when they took it out?- Pray For Me!

Thanks you guys! Everything went well yesterday. The gas pain is the most uncomfortable. And it feels like I've done a million billion crunches. The muscles are sore. No regrets at this point. Keep me in prayers though, and I'll pray for you all too!- Gas Pain
Thanks! Yeah, it's such a strange feeling to have all of that air inside.- 5 Days Post Op?

So I was sleeved yesterday! I'm doing ok. I think the gas is what's hurting the most. I feel so full and bubbly. Not normal fullness. When does it stop or go away? I know it just all depends. I'm trying to walk as much as I can.- July 16Th Sleevers!

I'm doing ok too. The gas bubbles are really the only problem. I'm trying not to be grossed out by my drain. Its crazy to think that we are sleeved! I haven't wrapped my head around it. It's crazy. I hope I can sleep tonight. I haven't been able to pee yet. Which is not exactly good. I don't want to have a catheter. Ugh. Prays for pee please!! I'm so proud of us all. I know I will need support through all of this. Blessings and prayers for us all.- Crazy Vsg Questions

Here we go everyone!! I'll be thinking of us all today, and I hope everyone feels the prayers!!! I feel a kindred spirit in us all. I'm so glad I'm not alone in this!- July 16Th Sleevers!
I'm getting sleeved tomorrow too!!! Yay for us! I'm driving down to Atlanta this evening with my parents. I'm a little nervous, but only about the recovery. I will be praying for us all. Best of luck!!- When Did You...
So, how long after surgery did you want to have sex? I haven't been in the mood lately, I think bc I'm stressed out about the surgery and other things. I mean, how long after your sleeve did you feel that you had the energy to do it? Just curious!!- This May Seem Silly...
Thanks you guys! We kind of want our older dog to have a sibling. And I fully understand sibling rivalry and things. It's funny how things are dropped in your lap, huh? My boyfriend is here to help me, and my parents, who are both doctors, live 10 mins from me. We are still thinking about it!- This May Seem Silly...
But is it silly, stupid or crazy to get a new puppy a week before surgery? My boyfriend and I, who live together, already have a 6 year old dog. Would it be something to keep my active, and focused on something other than myself? Or just too stressful, crazy, silly/stupid? Help!- Great News!
Yay!!!! Congrats!!!!- Finally Saying Hello :)
Welcome!!!!!!!- Vsg In 3 Weeks, Baby!
My date is the 16th!! Yay us!! I have my pre-op meeting Monday, EGD on the 9th, and surgery on the 16th. I feel like I'm part of the club now. Best of luck! Can't wait to hear how your journey goes!- A Date That Will Live In Memory
Well, I have my date. July 16th. Wow. It still feels a bit surreal to me. I've done the research, read the blogs, asked the questions. And now it's my turn. This site has been amazing for me. I know that it's hard to know what to expect, bc everyone is different. But what pearl of wisdom can you pass along? I know we all start in different places with different stories. But in truth, we are all linked in a way. We've had troublesome parts removed, to make way for our best selves. I'm not nervous, right now at least. I'm sure that emotion will creep up sooner or later. What surprised you the most? What has inspired you the most? What small thing has made the biggest difference for you so far? Did you have a small talisman? Like an object or something that you can focus on to keep you on track? I know some people get a tattoo to commemorate their sleeve. I got a very pretty silver bracelet, a gift from my mom and greatest supporter, and I wear it on my right wrist. So that each time I go to write, eat or sip, I can remember to be delicate with my sleeve. I named her Stella. I'm not sure why I was drawn to that name. But I felt that, at least for now, I needed a way of talking about this journey in public without it being obvious that I'm having surgery. I've decided not to tell people right now. I know this won't be the easiest thing, but I do feel like it will be an avenue for me to meet my best self. To become my best self. I am curious to see how I will change. Not just physically. But emotionally. And how my personality will change. So, my date is set. I am excited for the introduction to my new, best self.- Low Bmi'ers -- Please Share Your Story
My BMI is 35, and I'm 5'6". And I'm waiting for my insurance approval, and then for me there is no turning back. I want this.- No Overnight Stay?
Mine is going to be out patient as well. I like that, bc I hate hospitals. And it's only going to be ten grand, not forty. And it's being done at a center of excellence. My parents are both doctors, and apparently it's far more common to have it done out patient. I'd say just find a surgeon who you feel comfortable with, that's all that matter! Either way they do it, in patient or out, cheers to great safe results! - Drain
