  1. I was stressed over Water & Protein at first. It was so hard to get in all my Vitamins & meds much less water & shakes. Then the swelling from the surgery went down & I was able to drink gulps. I was getting close to hysteria. But it does get better. The rumbles & growling slowed down too. But my stomach still talks to me. Feel better sweetie & know that it gets better. You made the right choice.
  2. I like the lasagna ones but my FAV is the taco ones. I added Avacado to mine, fat free sour cream & salsa. They rocked.
  3. I want tickets to the Gun show! Congrats on your success. You look amazing!! Actually you look H O T, hot hot hot baby!
  4. I understand what you mean. I'm in a similar situation. I lost 20 pounds in the first two weeks. Plateaued for 2 weeks. scales has been up & down a pound or two at a time. Finally managed to move 15 more pounds. Plateaued again at 6 weeks out. Now 2 weeks on another plateau. So, to recap, I'm now 8 weeks out at 35 pounds lost. I keep trying to convince myself that more is going to come off but I'm terrified that I will be stuck at 249 forever. Nothing I do seems to help. More calories, less calories, more Protein, less protein, more exercise or less. I think we just gotta relax & work thru it. PS: I lost 50 pounds Pre-op. so I'm at 85 gone. People are really starting to notice & mention the weight loss so it's even more frustrating. I think it's cuz I'm wanting it more.
  5. Congratulations on this HUGE victory! Soon you will be without the chair all the time & using it as a clothes rack. :-)
  6. I'm still in the beginning stages of this journey but would love to know what all you success stories have done when your bodies stall?? Im 5'7 Starting weight 339 Current weight 249 Surgery date 5-18-12 Down 90 pounds total (50 Pre-op) My goal weight is 145 I have been struggling in the last month to get scale to move. :-(
  7. My sleeve hates spicy food too. It makes my acid reflux back up into my throat. But you may be totally different. I hope you can eat it!
  8. I was looking for pictures of the original recipe post.
  9. Can someone post before & after pictures of these cheese crisps?? I need a visual, please!! Thanks.
  10. How is it going on the battle with the scale? I'm having the same issue. My doctor wants me to up my calories & Protein intake because I'm burning too much working out. My weight is going up 2 pounds, down 1, up one, down 2 & I know I'm in starvation mode because I'm not having Ketosis breath. Any suggestions on how to get more calories in?
  11. I'm on Omeprazole but it doesn't seem to help me with the phantom hunger pains. I also tried Gas X. I have noticed that heartburn (when I don't take my pill) does seem like hunger but it's different than the growling. I just ignore the growls unless it's meal time. Oh well! I'm just gonna start growling back! Maybe I can scare the Tummy bear away.
  12. I had the same thing too. My stomach growled a lot at first. I kept trying to say it was head hunger, but it was definitely my stomach! The growling has slowed down (sleeve 5-18-12) but I do get full. It tends to be a small burp or discomfort at top of my stomach.
  13. Thanks M2G. It helps to know what others think & their personal experiences. I plan on following Dr's orders as well, and wait a year. It doesn't bother me unless I'm with a group of friends. I can say I had a half pitcher of Crystal Light Margaritas (no alcohol) at my cookout yesterday & it was FA-BU-lous!!!
  14. I believe Carnie drank those 10 drinks spread out over an entire day but she felt she had a serious problem with alcohol. (I think her Dad had a problem with alcohol & drugs.) My doctor says some people transfer addictions to sex, alcohol, shopping & even working out. I enjoy working out a lot & the more weight I lose, the greater the pull at the gym is. So, I see now that I could easily become addicted to one thing or another. Lol @ choosing sex addiction. Sign me up too!!
  15. Naw. She gained a lot of it back. She had a baby too. Last I heard she was the new spokesperson for "Band over Bypass". She is supposed to be getting a lap band over her bypass to try to get the weight back off.
  16. Carnie Wilson said she was drinking up to 10 mimosas a day. That's what she told Oprah. And then they were showing all the videos from bloggers talking about becoming alcoholics.
  17. Did anyone else watch nightline last night, 6-18-12? It was "Weigh Less, Drink More?" about transferring your food addiction to alcohol. They talk about Carnie Wilson & Beth Sheldon-Badore, AKA: Melting Mama of Bariatric Bad Girls Club. I'm only 1 month out, so I haven't had alcohol yet. Does it really affect you quicker & sober up quickly? What do y'all think about this phenomenon? Have you experienced it? I've never had a problem with alcohol, so it makes me nervous to drink anything.
  18. Thanks so much for posting. My back has been killing me. And it had gotten so much better. It's good to know its probably the weight loss. :-)
  19. Yes. Try Biotin. I was losing a lot of hair too until I started taking it. Now I'm back to my normal hair shedding.
  20. I struggled at first too. So I started using these New whey shots. I drink 1/2 at a time cuz my doctor says your body cannot process more than 25 grams of Protein at any one time. Anything extra will be passed out of the body. the shots are a little sour so sometimes I add a little Splenda. I also really like Pro Joe coffee drinks in the morning. 20 grams in 9 oz.
  21. I just realized today that I need to move my seat forward in the car. I don't need to be that far back for the steering wheel anymore. And I has another victory a couple days ago. Was sitting on the couch talking to a fried & I realized that I had my legs CROSSED. I haven't done that (unless by extreme effort cuz of job interview or church) in at least 7 years. I can comfortable cross my legs!!! Oh & my dog is sad. She loves to ride in the car but she doesn't go much. Today she wouldn't sit still. Fidgeting. Finally I reallizes she was sliding into the crack between me & the car door. It's like the grand canyon. Used to be, she sat on Me had no problem sitting on my fluff.
  22. The next stage for me was cream Soups. I think you could take a few extra days if you wanted to but your doctor is trying to get you ready for (eventually) solids. As long as you are getting in your Protein & Vitamins. I burped a lot too on fluids & got full. But when the swelling goes down it gets easier.
  23. I did the same thing. Couldn't sleep for 4 days even with ambien. But once I started getting the Vitamins in & the Water, I started feeling better. I was exhausted!!! Don't worry about stretching it. Measure, measure, measure your food. Weigh it or use a measuring cup. And when you burp or feel pressure, stop. You are full! It's hard to adjust to so little making you full. My brain doesn't agree with my stomach. But I listen to my stomach.
  24. My doctor said I could walk on treadmill until I hit 3 weeks. At 3 weeks I could get back to my regular workout. I did a mile & 1/2 everyday after week one on the treadmill (on weight loss setting). Now I'm doing elliptical for thirty minutes & an hour doing all the weights. Feeling pretty good. :-D
