  7. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks post-op for me and I can finally eat mushy food!!!! What I was wondering is... what did you guys eat on the mushy diet?? I know all the basics....applesauce, yogurt, pudding, creamy soups, but what else have you tried?? I would love to have some kind of variety. Can I eat runny oatmeal or grits?? How about mashed potatoes?? Any info will help! Thanks in advance!
  8. Exciting news!!! Congrats!! I wish you lots of success!!!
  9. I seen them over near the Vitamins and the EAS shakes, Atkins shakes, etc. at Walmart. Let me know if you try them and how it goes. I wasn't too sure about them.
  10. I would like to know that question too!! I'm 10 days post op and definitely not there yet!!

  13. At first I just told my immediate family. Then slowly I started letting a few more people in. I held off telling my husbands side because we didn't want my mother in law to worry. We finally told them a week before my surgery was scheduled. Her reaction was as expected..."Ohhhh Tricia!! Don't do that!!!" I completely understand where she is coming from, but it just seemed to take a little joy out of my GREAT news!! As I kept letting more people in on what I was planning I started not liking people reactions. Some would comment briefly and then quickly move on as if they didn't know what to say at all. It felt like a "poor fat tricia has to have this done" kinda look. It could have been just me, but I told my hubby I wasn't going to tell anyone anymore. If they asked...then I would tell. Guess it's different for everyone.
  14. I will definitely let you know what my doc says tomorrow and you tell me what yours says...lol!!!! Great to find another Lapband buddy that is going through the exact same thing at the exact same time..lol. I sooo want some scrambled eggs....Mmmmm!!! Thanks for taking the time to comment!!

  18. I have a feeling my surgeon will say the same thing. I didn't know I could have runny oatmeal and grits??? Can I????? Guess I'll be making a call to the doc in the morning!! lol!!
  19. That is really exciting news!! Keep up the good work!!
  20. Today is exactly one week since I've been banded. Let me just say it has not been a great week by any means and for me the 5th and 6th day were the hardest. I still have some swelling and gas that just won't go away, but for the most part I'm getting better everyday. Although I struggle daily with hunger and what to eat as the protein shakes are getting sooo old and leave an awful after taste in my mouth now. I'm suppose to be on the liquid diet for one more week and have no clue how I'm going to get through it. I go see the doc on Monday and I plan on begging to be put on mushy foods....I might even cry if he says no!!! lol!! All kidding aside....I feel like I just NEED...NOT want....NEED solid food. Is there anyone else out there feeling this way??? Just wondering why I can't hack it when others seem to have no problem. ????
  21. I believe I would eat just about anything right now! If I'm feeling weak and tired all the time I definitely don't think its just in my head. My stomach is growling as I type this. I do understand what your saying though. My mind has drifted off to Pizza Hut or McDonald's a few times, but I'm not about to risk my band slipping or causing myself harm over it. I just want to feel better and get rid of this hunger! Thanks!
  22. Wow..that sounds like heaven to me right now. I think I might just call my doc tomorrow. I don't want to be a baby and say I can't take it any more, but I'm feeling so tired and drug out all the time. I need more nutrients!! Thanks.
  23. I'm 6 days post op and very hungry. I can't seem to stomach the shakes any longer and feel miserable. My whole body seems to be calling out for food. This must be Bandster Hell!! How long does it last??!!
  24. Yes...my stomach is still a bit swollen. It just takes time for all the gas to go away.
