  1. I am two weeks away from my surgery date (Jul 16), and I've just woken up at 2am in full panic mode....what if I die, what if I'm sick for the rest of my life, what if I don't lose the weight....then I think what if I don't go through with it - and I die or I'm sick for the rest of my life and I don't lose the weight....all week I've been excited, and now I feel trapped and scared, I feel like a crazy person right now! How did everyone out there deal with per-surgery anxiety, any tips? Right now I'm sitting with the tv on trying to avoid the kitchen where my old anti anxiety meds are (aka FOOD).
  2. I initially went in to learn about the band, but I travel internationally for work and was told that A: after being on a flight over 5-6 hrs you sometimes have to do all liquids for a few days because of decompression (had never thought of this) and B: if there is an issue and the band needs to be adjusted or there is some kind of emergency it can be extremely difficult to find a competent Dr. In some countries. So there we were with surgery options and for me I was more comfortable with the sleeve because it seems less extreme and safer (less disruption with what nature intended!) I also have a friend who did the full bypass and she has a lot of dumping and malabsorption issues - is also now anemic. My friend who had the sleeve done, all she says it that she wishes she had done it sooner.
  3. Thanks! I'll check it out....I've seen some but they've all been tied to a certain Dr. or hospital....
  4. Thanks! That means a lot, nor a lot of people have been positive or understand what this means to me, so no one to talk to about it. I look forward to meeting you and you're welcome to contact me anytime too!
  5. You look awesome, very inspiring! Thanks for sharing, helps me to be less nervous....
  6. Thanks, I appreiate it! I travel for work a lot but I'll be home most of July " getting ready" for the big day......
  7. Hey Ladies, I know these are old posts, but did anything ever come about? I am in Spring / Woodlands area w/surgery scheduled for Aug 13th and would love to find a support group to join and meet with!
