  1. I'm super nervous about having anything to drink. Different doctors say different time limits, so check with yours. Mine said I was fine after 5 months (which was Dec 13th), so I'm going to have some wine at Xmas. I'm not a big drinker at all and have my mother's alcohol tolerance (i.e. none) so I'm going to take it slow and I'm going to be in the house, around family, so someone can call an ambulance if something goes horribly wrong, lol.
  2. I guess I heard a different definition of "soft foods". ^^;;;; Anyway, I ate a scrambled egg for lunch and I still feel something in my throat. I looked up reflux and it sounds just like the symptoms. The only cause that can be applicable to me is obesity. So is this something that will work itself out? Plan on calling the doc if I'm not feeling better by tomorrow. Tomato Soup for dinner. Maybe some low-fat frozen ice for dessert.
  3. "Leveled" was supposed to be "sleeved". My auto correct got me. Anyway, I'm on the soft foods stage. Right now I'm having a little bit of rice and a soft, seafood taco. The food feels like it isn't going down. It feels like it's just sitting in my throat. It's super uncomfortable. I'm not entirely sure what reflux is. I had an esophageal hernia that the doctor fixed during my surgery, shouldn't that have taken care of the reflux?
  4. Sleeved on August 13th. The burping finally went away but now I'm having trouble swallowing. I take tiny bites and chew really well, but the it feels painful to swallow and sometimes my chest hurts like something's stuck in my throat. Today I woke up with the feelings of something in my throat and it makes me not want to eat. Has anyone else experienced this? Does it go away on its own?
  5. That is an awesome story!
  6. Good to know I'm not the only one. I was totally shocked when I first realized it. I wonder how this will effect my next weigh in. I weighed in at 312 the morning of surgery.
  7. Five days post op and I start my period. My last period was the fourth week of July then out of no where, bam! My period. WTF? My cycle has always been irregular, but this is insane. Can surgery trigger your period? So embarrassed. I didn't have any tampons with me or anything and wasn't well enough to go out so I had to ask my mother-in-law and thankfully, she had a box that I left at her house a few months ago. Never been so thankful I'm forgetful. Anyone else have this happen to them?
  8. Jess, haven't had any chest pains. Is it from you incisions? I do get some pains when sitting up due to the incisions.
  9. That's good to know. Thanks!
  10. Hey sleevers! Had my surgery on Monday and my recovery is going well. The only problem is that I keep burping whenever I drink anything. Is that normal? Am I drinking too fast? Too slow? It doesn't hurt to burp or anything, it's just a little annoying. Hope everyone is doing well!
  11. Glad to hear everyone is doing well! I'm still taking it easy and relaxing with the puppies.
  12. Hey sleevers, how is everyone doing? My surgery went really well. The doctor found a esophageal hernia while he was in there and he went ahead and fixed that. I had no idea I had a hernia at all! Glad they got that taken care of. Am relaxing at the in-laws house right now with some quality Jello. How did everyone's surgery go?
  13. That sounds good. I know my fiancé will be excited to hear that.
  14. Ave any of you post-op sleevers noticed a change in your sex drive after losing the weight? My sex drive has been at zero since I got heavy and it's really taking a toll on my relationship with my fiancé. I'm really hoping that dropping some serious weight will bring back my sex drive.
