  1. Start: 188 Now: 155 Height: 5'2
  2. I was told by my doctor and the girls in his office (most of which all had the sleeve done as well) to not worry about getting all your protein in because your not going to be able to. The most important thing is staying hydrated. I drink Muscle Milk which is really good and had 30 grams of protein in it. I'm 7 weeks post op and still can't get all my protein in. Don't worry it DOES get better and it will get easier. Just take it one day at a time, soon you will be able to take more in and since your only 11 days post op try not to be so hard on yourself. I found that sugar free fudge sickles have 2 grams of protein each, I lived off of them for the first few weeks. Good luck!
  3. Feeling awesome and looking forward to not feeling ashamed to wear shorts or even a bathing suit this summer. This is the best thing I could have done for myself, absolutely no regrets!!

    Scars after surgery?

My surgeon also used my old scars however, you can buy OTC silicone strips at the drug store. They cost about 20 bucks but they've really helped get rid of my scars. I'm 6 weeks out btw.
  5. I've been craving a salad for the longest time. Any advice on when I can reintroduce this in my diet? I'm also craving, of all things a grilled hot dog. Probably because the smell of all the grills in the neighborhood are killing me!!!!!
  6. Same here Jenny! I feel like I'm depleting my body and the only thing that is keeping me mentally on track if you will, is the weight that I'm losing. I was finally able to finish an entire chononi yogurt this evening which made me feel better since its 14g of protein.
  7. Just got back from my follow up appointment and my doctor concurred with the dietician that I should stay on full liquid for an extra week before I advance. He said its normal as my stomach is adjusting to what I can and cannot tolerate. Good news is I'm down 23lbs! Thanks all for your input and experience, I appreciate it'
  8. Thanks I usually always revert back to my liquids when this happens. The only plus side is I've lost 23 pounds in 3 weeks.
  9. Ugh! My daily food intake consists of pretty much Gatorade, Popsicles and a few crackers. Once I take a few bites of anything of substance like soup, eggs, tuna fish (and I chew very well) I usually end up throwing up which mostly consists of bile. I know this is gross but has anyone else had any experiences like this? I see my doctor tomorrow but wanted to put this out there. I'm really glad this forum is here. Thanks all!
  10. Thank you so much, I see my doc on Monday and will ask him.
  11. Has anyone else experienced this? I was taking Prilosec for about a week and a half but the last time I took it, it made me throw up so I quit it. This constant burping is extremely annoying, does it get any better? Thanks all!

    Dehydration?

You are going to feel like crap if you don't keep yourself hydrated and it could put you back in the hospital. I found drinking Gatorade helped because it had the necessary electrolytes and potassium needed. Also sugar free Popsicles. DON'T get dehydrated!!!! I felt better right away after I started drinking Gatorade.
  13. I just had revision surgery on the 12th of this month. I'm so happy I had it, already down 20lbs. I was only on pain meds for 2 days and can tell you that I had more pain when I had my gallbladder removed. I wouldn't worry about the pain what you need to be concerned with is nausea however, the nursing staff does a fine job giving you everything necessary to combat this.
  14. I can't believe how much weight I've lost and its only been 2 weeks! Although I haven't had much of an appetite I'm finally able to consume about half the amount of my daily protein. Looking forward to not feeling humiliated in a pair of shorts this summer.
