tonibugg got a reaction from HELLO ITS ME CAMI in How It Went, For Me!
I just had my surgery on June 29th and am having almost the exact same weird pains! I hate those weird hiccup things!! AHHHH they hurt! I am doing only clear liquids this week and moving on to protein shakes etc next week. I haven't had the head hunger either. My husband and my daughter stopped and got chinese on the way home from the hospital, they were starving lol, and I honestly did not want anything, NOTHING! It was weird to not feel tempted, hungry, something anyway! I am happy with my broth, water and peach SF jello =) and I don't even want that half the time.
Anyway, I really enjoyed your post! I felt the same way going into surgery, nervous is not even a good adjective to use lol then the weird pains (I had gas pains under my shoulder blade for a day but Gas X got rid of that quick like!) the hiccups and the diaphram odd pain. Crazy! I hope your next couple of days goes well and hope you find time to post another blog! Thanks again!

tonibugg got a reaction from dpeeler28 in This Is Frustrating!
I did ok on the pre op but mine was basically the Atkins diet not liquid. It was when I came home after surgery and couldn't eat anything but liquids for the first 2 weeks, my head was playing some games on me!! I cried and had a little pity party but now I'm 3 weeks out and halfway to normal foods again =) YAY! It's not that you can't have anything but liquids but that I can't eat but a few "licks" or sips of whatever and I'm done. I look at the rest of the food and get so aggravated I can't finish it or at least get a few more bites in. I know I need the protein and nutrition but it takes me all day to get down the protein and vitamins!! lol Such a weird head game, wanting and needing food but simply not being able to get it in. Good luck with the pre op and your sleeve journey, it's harder than I anticipated but I am down 32 lbs since I started pre op till now so it is all worth it!!! Almost to Onederland!!!

@Tiffany, I did model the underwear and bra for him....he seemed very impressed but then something came on the T.V. and I lost him to the Food Network. LOL Oh well, He did at least pause the T.V. when I came out in my new jeans that show off my butt. He even made me turn around a few times so he could admire it. So, I guess sometimes my body is better than T.V. ......just not always. LOL
Also, thank you so much for your kind words. I continue to try to do my best, but I'm not perfect. I have things I shouldn't....just not often and not very much....I still have issues with eating at night....something I continue to work on. At least now, I'm eating fruit instead of chips and ice cream. lol. I will make sure I keep everyone posted and you're right, when I get below 200...WATCH OUT. That's going to be a blog of pure happiness. LOL God luck to you too!!!!!

My heart and prayers go out to you today, I am a cat fanatic and to have such an important part of your family in that kitty makes it all that much harder. I have 2 younger cats but I also have a 12 year old lab that has been a part of our family since he was literally born and it is so hard to watch them get older. Like losing a a literal part of your family! Just know that what ever decision you make it is the right one, your heart is the only thing that can tell you what is right and time at this point =)

Wow! You've lost 15lbs before your pre-op diet. That's terrific! Yes, I say go for it.
Get an extra large slurpee, and then put those things to rest, forever!

LOL! This is funny because I was all ready to go with my pre op diet and thought "I'm gonna start early and get the ball rolling!" Mine is not the liquid preop either, simply low carb.. basically the Atkins but with more starting carbs daily. Could I stick with it?! NO!! 3 days in I was like, "What am I doing? I am about to have surgery so why am I starting this diet too soon?" soooo... yep, I cheated and went and ate some BBQ! Well, I got back up again the next day but ONLY because I knew I needed to be prepared for surgery so I've made a decision to do it right! I need to take care of myself, isn't that why we're doing the surgery?? It is hard though.. Monday I start the protein shakes with a small dinner and I HAVE to be good with that. I'm almost there though 9 more days!!! We can do this!!

    Lisa,
You DO NOT SUCK! If dieting was easy, none of us would have to have this surgery in the first place! I know that whenever I even thought about going on a diet I ended up gaining weight because I ate more of the bad stuff, thinking I would be deprived. So do not beat yourself up...just plan to embrace your new life, free of hunger with the sleeve. This is a tool that will allow you to more easily make the right choices. This week of pre-op is time to get real though. You need to do your liquid diet faithfully without cheating. Find a protein shake you really love. If you are a chocolate drinker, my whole family likes chocolate flavored Nitro Peak that you can pick up at Vitamin World. For me, it helped to remind myself that this was just ONE WEEK and I was doing it for a healthy, safe surgery. You might experience some dizziness, headache and loss of energy for the first few days as you come off the carbs and sugar. Don't panic, just drink lots of water and stay the course. Once that stuff is out of your system, you will no longer crave it, which is such a blessing! That does not mean you will not want it though, so just keep reminding yourself about the reason you are doing this, to prepare for your surgery. YOU CAN DO IT! I will keep you in my prayers for great will power during the liquid phase and a safe, easy surgery and quick recovery!!
