Great information. Also make sure you are using a high quality source of Protein.
If you are taking 2 hours to consume the 40 grams then you are still likely using most of the Protein. Protein slows the digestive process, so it stays in your intestine longer.

I'd recommend really looking harder at plication.
Many of the original assumptions about plication have proven to be in error.
Plication was originally thought to be reversible, real cases have proven otherwise. The folded portion of the stomach has a tendency to grow together therefore making it irreversible.
Another misconception is that plication is safer or has less propensity for complications. Reality is that it is long term a riskier surgery. The aforementioned folds that grow together also tend to necrosify(die), also there have been multiple occasions there the sutures that have also torn the stomach.
Another thing to consider is that with plication the fundus still exists and can further stretch. Additionally as you referred to grehlin production is not altered through plication.
Lastly consider the fact that while the sleeve is gaining in popularity & becoming more common, many surgeons are ceasing to offer plication as an option.

Here's a link to Big Frank's thread. He is the most recent 450lb +- success story.

We have seen numerous 400lb+ successes come through here. Only problem is that (I'm assuming) they get so involved in their new lives, they forget about us.
Which reminds me of Patrick. Starting at 660lbs, I haven't seen a post from him in some time, but last report from another member that sees him occasionally is that he is doing great. Here's a link to his latest post.

    Hey Frank,
Thanks for sharing, glad to hear your surgery was so uneventful. Unfortunately those of us that had no problems just don't say it enough. But honestly most surguries go quite well. It might be time to revive the "good recovery" thread.

I still remember my first post in this forum.it was something like,
Is this too easy? I'm really afraid since this is causing me no real adversity that I am going to fail at this.
Needless to say, I'm almost 11 weeks out & it is definately working, and I'm not a failure. I haven't had any real issues yet.

Ha ha , I don think I've been called a breeder in at least 15 years.
And unfortunately I can understand the heart breaking thing. When I was younger I use to party at the San Antonio Mining Co. in El Paso, TX just because I new I'd never have to pay for any of my own drinks.

You'll be fine at 20-25 in an hour. It will actually digest over several hours. Just don't go for any more at 1 shot.

    IMO,
At this point you shouldn't be eating anything. Hydration is your first priority. Many people don't even add Protein Drinks for the first couple weeks. Sip sip sip till you reach your first goal (usually 1/2 gal in a day), then add some Protein Shakes. Your not going to put yourself at risk of malnutrition anytime soon. But dehydration will land you in the hospital

Most slider foods are pretty easy to tell. First off sliders are high calorie/carb
If it melts or turns into a liquid while eating (ice cream, Jello, popcorn)
If you smash it up and find that it takes up very little space ( potato chips cheese doodles)
It's really kind of amazing. Take a bag of Cheetos and put them in a blender then measure them. You'll completely understand why you can eat so many of them.(this works for chips too).

Are you sure you haven't dropped a size or 2? I can tell you, pre-op I was cramming myself into a 44" waist pants I probably should been wearing 46 or even 48. So it took a while for my pants to start falling off
Either way I bet you are losing a lot faster than you gained, I'll also bet those pants are a lot easier to button.

Actually, you are right on schedule. Though stalls are different for all of us, somewhere in the 3rd to 4th week is where most experience their first. With your pre-op losses I wouldn't have been surprised at all if you'd stalled at any point. I've even seen cases where people have stalled immediately following surgery.
Just keep following your plan & everything will work like it is supposed to.
And congrats on the 56lb loss. You are well on your way!!!

Check out Quest nutrition, or Premier nutrition.
Premier can be found @ Sams club, Walmart, & costco. I've always bought Quest online.
Word of warning, there is really no such thing as a good Protein bar. They are nice for occasional use when you just don't have the time to stop & eat healthy, but ultimately they are all glorified candy bars.
