The funny thing is see here is, all this equipment that is supposed to be state of the art, is in pretty much every hole in the wall surgical facility in Mexico.
I will not argue, Dr Aceves is without doubt one of the 2 top choices in Mexico, the other being Dr Alvarez @ Endobariatric.
I was personally sleeved by Dr Ponce de leon. From the day I left the int hospital, I haven't had a single medication (excluding stool softeners), haven't had a single complication, or even a moment of regret.
I'm happy to say, the you get what you pay for mindset just doesn't hold true here. If paying 40% more makes you feel like you had a better experience, then I am happy for you. But to suggest that someone that has scrimped & saved to get the money to self pay for a good qualified surgeon (ponce, Kelly, Garcia) should go into debt so they can go to your doctor, is reprehensible.
I personal could have gone to any doctor I wanted to and just written a check for it (yes including the 60K surgery in NJ), and I seriously considered both Almanza & Alvarez, however the more actual research I did the more I found that Kelly's & Ponce's credentials & patient satisfaction rates were equally impressive. The only thing they didn't have was the extra $3250 in their fee.
The deciding factor between Kelly & Ponce, for me was Trish, since Kelly had just recently stopped using coordinators, and Trish was now with Dr Ponce exclusively.
I don't advocate debt, I believe it is a cancer on our society. There is a line somewhere that says "the borrower is slave to the lender". I simply don't see why anyone would sign up to be someone else's slave.
If you have the money, and it makes you feel better to write an 8750dollar check than one for 5500, then I'm happy for you. But don't for a minute believe that just because you spent more money that you got better results.

One thing to consider also is living really close to his or your parents probably isn't the best thing for your relationship. I know the best thing we ever did was pack up and move 1000miles away from our parents no more interfering and nobody to easily run to.

Wow, you are not going to like me very much..
What I see here is a woman married to a boy. You went out and found someone you thought you could fix. I hate to tell you this, but you can't fix him or his family of enablers.
Secondly, when you got married, didn't the preacher(or whoever) say the words "and now you are one"? What is all this "I support this" and "he can buy for that" stuff? Doesn't even sound like much of a marriage to me.
Do you both have common goals that you are both working toward together? Or are you simply two individuals living under one roof bonded by a piece of paper?
Where would he be if you split up & he couldn't run back to his grandparents? Can he stand on his own two legs?
I would highly recommend reading the book "Boundaries" by Dr. Henry Cloud. If at all possible I'd recommend he read it also.

May I ask, how much excercise are you getting in? Gatorade is great, but you really don't need all those electrolytes if you are not sweating heavily (from excercise). One of my tricks is I dilute almost everything I drink. If I have a 20 oz Gatorade I'll add anywhere from 10-20 oz of Water to it.

Thereis a thread called "learning the lingo" that might help you some. I'd post a link to it but I haven't figured out how to do that on iPad yet.
And Onederland is when the first digit of your scale is a 1(under 200lbs)

    What PDXMan said
I would also like to add that there is a difference in surgeons also while some may use a smaller bougie and staple/ sew loosely around it. Others may use a larger size and staple/ sew tightly around, thus creating the same size sleeve. so really no matter how one might question the size of their sleeve, you are never quite sure what you really have. The good news is your results are much more dependent on you than your sleeve size, or even which surgeon you choose.

Everyone is different. The best advice I've seen is to arrange for 2 weeks then see how you feel after a few days. You can't measure your progress based on someone else's.

Size does not matter. We're talking millimeters, here. From what I remember from my research, you don't want too small because it can become all twisted around. The difference between the smallest and the largest would most likely equate to one additional bite of something, which, isn't going to have all that much impact on your overall weight loss.
The secret to weight loss with the sleeve is sticking to the rules. Sleeve size is not going to change that.
    * Added comment *
As far as long term, that depends on the individual. There are few long term studies on VSG. I know at 1 year out I still have excellent restriction. I had a size 36 bougie. But, I follow the rules pretty closely, too. I know the stretchy part of my stomach was removed, so my sleeve had pretty much stretched out to the largest it is going to. Yes, your sleeve is going to stretch, but the amount is inconsequential. Going from a 7 oz capacity to 9 oz. Something like that.
If you stick to the rules (only cheating occassionally) there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to maintain your goal weight for decades. Push the limits, don't follow the rules, eat cr@p ... in other words, do all the things that got us to this point to begin with ... and your results will vary.
The sleeve is a tool, not a solution.

If the issue is causing conflict between you and your husband, best to hie yourself off to a professional to a) get on the same page, and learn how to deal with the problem together.
If it's not causing conflict, and the issue is the expectations/rules you have about what parenting should look like, maybe try some reading? Boundaries (Cloud/Townsend), The Smart Stepmom (Ron L. Deal) or Hang on to your Kids (Gordon Neufeld) are good choices. Or, you could talk with a professional about the situation.
Or, alternatively, you could "let sleeping dogs lie."

I guess it's time for me to get more hate mail.
First off, men are very visual, we are turned on by what we see. If you were thinner and in better shape and more confident when you met him, you can bet that he found that version of you attractive.
If as you gained weight, his affections dwindled, as did your confidence, well, the blunt reality is that his physical attraction likely decreased as your weight increased.
I know this sounds horrible, but it's a man thing, it's just the way we are. We can't fake a physical relationship.
The fact that he has stayed by you through all of this is testimony that he loves you. It's just the brutal reality of being a man, we can't pretend to be sexually attracted to someone.
So when he starts flirting with you more, maybe even gets a little jealous, take it as a compliment
We can say anything you want to hear, and believe me we know what you want to hear. But the way he treats you is is his real tribute to your success

I would challenge anybody that believes that sodas whether diet or not aren't poison to do a couple things.
    1. go to your nearest bottling facility in the early morning. Sit near the truck gate and watch the trucks bringing the ingredients into the facility. You will see so any HAZ-MAT placards it's just not funny ranging from CORROSIVE, FLAMMABLE, & even ,yes, POISON.
    2. Do the spoon test. Get a cheap spoon (you dont want to ruin your good ones), pour a glass of soda, and suspends spoon in the soda for several days.
Then decide, do you really want this stuff in your body?

Eeeehhhh, not so much. That's the nice thing about this surgery. You'd have to be crazy out of control, practically endangering your life to really "stretch" your sleeve. The capacity increases very slightly over like.....a couple of years or something. But no, I don't think you stretched your sleeve.
My first two months were VERY hungry. It should get better soon once the Grehlin is more out of your system.
