    I need help badly!

I don't generally eat unhealthy but I find myself eating more and more often....one of my biggest problems is cheese...string cheese, mozerella etc. I used to struggle to eat a whole chicken thigh at dinner, now I'll down 6-7 buffalo wings! It's almost as if I never had the surgery!
  2. I was sleeved on 6/25/12 and lost about 50 pounds. (247-197)....in the past 2 to 3 months, I have seriously backslid to the point where I'm now about 215 and I find that i'm eating nearly the portions I ate before my surgery. It seems everything is going down the tubes here and I'm not sure what to do. Motivation is near zero and total failure seems right around the corner! Has anyone experienced this? If so, how can this trend be reversed? Help please!!!!!

    I Have To Ask

I guess then this must be the new "normal" for us? I was sleeved the same day as you were and I suppose there are a lot of changes we'll go through as a result of this procedure. Thanks a bunch for replying! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  6. I'm nearly 6 weeks post op and I have always been a Water drinker. 6 to 8 glasses per day and it's always been water in - water out. Since surgery, I still drink 60-80oz per day but I've noticed that I don't urinate nearly as much as I used to and when I do, it's darker than you would expect from drinking so much. It used to be pretty much clear and now it's a darker yellow. Has this happened to anyone else? Sent from my iPhone using VST

    June Sleevers! Hows It Going?

Sleeved June 25th and down 41 pounds. (11 pre-op, 30 post-op) Weight loss is beginning to slow down a bit and I was told it would at my last Dr. visit on Tuesday. Down from 245 to 204 but it's beginning to be a battle to get to onederland.
  8. I'm completely with Dooter on this one. I too, never gave RNY a thought....too many issues. I'd ask the insurance advocate at your surgeons office about coverage if you decide to go with the sleeve, and I'd be surprised if there was any problem. Good luck!

    6 Months Of Supervised Dieting

Oh man, sorry to hear that. Hopefully one of your choices at open enrollment will cover bariatric surgery. One thing you could look into even with your current insurance is if they'll cover it if your doctor declares that it's medically necessary. In that case, they might have to. Many insurance companies don't cover it right off the bat because they still consider it cosmetic surgery. It might be worth it to give your insurance another call. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    High Protein Fudge-Sicle!

10 grams of Protein, but 9 grams of carbs too? That protein to carb ratio seems pretty high. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    6 Months Of Supervised Dieting

The only way around it that I know of is if you self-pay for the surgery. The 6 month diet is a requirement from your insurance company before they're willing to absorb the costs of the procedure. It varies among different insurers, mine for instance required 3 months of dieting. Consider yourself lucky in a way because some insurance companies still don't cover WLS at all! 13. Whatever you decide to do, I hope it works out for you. I obviously don't know you or your husband so I'm reluctant to just throw advice out to you. I have noticed that there are several posts of women leaving bad marriages and good for you gals if your lives are now better. We all deserve to find happiness, and if that means a divorce, or a breakup then so be it. But not all of us guys are as bad as some of the ones I read about on here. My wife and I celebrated our 30th anniversary last month and we have 2 beautiful children. She is my partner, lover and best friend. I had my VSG in June and she took a week off to stay home and care for me just in case I needed her around. 8 years ago, I had a stroke and I couldn't stand, walk or bathe myself. She was there, at my side the whole time, bathing me, feeding me, helping me walk....she never once complained. Thank God, I had a full recovery with no side effects. My wife never had a weight issue (she's 5 ft. 117 lbs) but she was completely supportive of me having this surgery, and I did it because I love her so much and I want to have the benefit of more years with her. I don't care if this surgery turns me into the hottest guy on earth, I will NEVER stray from her (in 30 years, I have never strayed). She is a big reason why I'm still alive and she's my reason for living, and that will never change. Sent from my iPhone using VST
