My nurses were wonderful. My doctor wasnt exactly Mr softy but I'm not paying him to be nice... He seemed very knowledgable. Surprisingly, I'm doing fine. When I first got woken up I felt a lot of pressure in my tummy but no pain. The pain was in my back and still is!! I have really bad back problems, so I think laying flat on my back kinda messed me up. I'm not hungry at all like I was going in. I've been trying to walk a little... My gas isn't too bad. Sometimes I will get a rush of gas in between my breasts, but it goes away after walking and rubbing it. I will keep you all updates on my progress. Anyone have questions?

I am ready to get it over with and start my NEW life. My surgery is set for 7am but I have to be there at 6am. I am located in California, so not sure if we are in the same time zone.

*2 days clear liquid diet. Surgery date: June 7th I totally feel sorry for those who have to be on a clear liquid diet for 2 weeks. chicken broth and Water just isn't cutting it for this gorge eater. I have the worst headache imaginable, and every time my husband tries to talk to me...i practically rip his head off. I just want the surgery over and done with....the 7th cannot come soon enough!! Ugh...need some encouraging words. I'm also super nervous about my surgery. Thankfully, my surgeon is a GENIUS and everyone talks so highly of him...but you just never know. =/ scurrrred.

I am telling people that I am eating way less , not eating carbs, and exercising all the time! Which will be the truth. lol I'll only omit the lap band. People don't NEED to know!

You all are doing very well. I hope I am like that as well. I will cry if I am 2 weeks post op and haven't lost a pound I'm currently 207 pounds, so I am a lower BMI...I may not lose very quickly..but who knows~

You may be eating too fast. When you eat carbs such as bread or rice, it basically starts to grow in your tummy. Try chewing many times before you swallow and take very tiny bites. Sometimes, people just have a stronger gag reflex than others do. Because the lap band restricting, your gag reflex just might be very touchy. Unfortunately, for some people, the lap band is not right for them and it needs to be removed. Would you say that you have a touchy gag reflex? For example..do you gag when you smell something nasty? Or do you gag if you eat too much (before the lap band)

So kick ass! I would love to be down 22 pounds before my cruise =P What liquids have you been eating/drinking....protein shakes?

The people who have died were probably in really bad health to begin with. Just keep up with your checkups and you will be fine. If you notice an unusual problem or feeling, call your doctor. They are there to help you. Not cut you up and send you on your way

I totally understand. I have been on and off of diet programs my entire life. I'm sick of the yo-yo!

My nurse who has recently been banded told me that the first two days, she could feel a tightness around her stomach. She states that she could feel it, along with her friend...but it's temporary.

When you tried losing weight without the band, were you the same way with losing? I can lose weight, if I practically starve myself. When I went on the HCG diet, I lost 30 pounds in a month, but as soon as I started eating normally again, I gained every pound back PLUS some. So, I am very capable of losing it at a good rate..Just wondering if the healing process is going to postpone it. It's hard to tell, because everyone is different and we all have different experiences.

Seems like you are doing well. 12 pounds is pretty good in three weeks, I think. I know that I am going to have NO restriction on my cruise, but by that time, I'll be able to eat soft food at least!

I understand that the first month is basically for healing, then you really start losing after your first fill. Some people gain and others lose. I am kind of hoping that I am not one to gain. I am going on a cruise in a month and my surgery is in 2 days. How much did you lose after 2 weeks if at all? How much did you gain? When did you finally start seeing a loss if you didn't lose in the first 2 weeks? I know everyone is different, so could you please include your beginning BMI for me please ?? Thanks everyone!

I'm not telling very many people. It's none of their business and because I am a low BMI, I'm sure I would get a lot of snarls. I rather not deal with everyone's opinions and crap. I'm telling everyone I am eating less and working out. (Which will be the truth!)

Thanks for the encouragement. I know there will be pain, I'm just a little baby. haha. I have heard from several women that the 3rd day is when everything starts to feel like it's back to normal. If I can go through child birth without an epidural, I think I should be alright. lol It's just nerve wrecking. I want it over with!

I'm a low BMI, self payer. Getting really nervous about my surgery...I think mostly about the pain afterward. Yikes!

Good luck with your surgery, hun. Our surgery is on the SAME DAY. Are you nervous? Because I'm shaking with fear..lol

I am a low BMI, self pay, soon to be bandster. The doctor explained that, because I am in good health to start with, my recovery will be significantly easier....BUT I am very scared of the pain. What can I do to help cope with this feeling?
