    First Fill

Hi Dawn! I didn't drink anything after my fill yesterday, I felt full so we'll see what today is like. So far I've had a cup of coffee and felt fine, I'm on liquids until this afternoon so I'll have a shake in a little while and see how I do. This is exciting, getting that first fill is a milestone

Top Ten Things I'm Hoping For Once I Am Banded

This forum has gotten me over a few humps, the support here is amazing. Some days when I get discouraged, I pop on in and read the success stories and look at photos, other days I read about others struggling with the same issues. You can and WILL do this!

Pizza Ordered! Ready For My Pina Colada!

Wow! it must be Pizza day in Texas! That's what my family is having tonight. I had my first fill today, so I'm on liquids for 24 hours. I would not eat a slice though, I might pick a few pieces of meat off but that's all I allow myself, I can't be trusted :/ It will get easier, I promise.

    Port Pain

I'm so glad I found your post, and the replies. I had my surgery on June 20th and have been having port area pain/pulling lately...was getting a bit freaked. I go in for my first fill today, so I will consult my Doc. just in case.
  6. I get my first fill today. I'm concerned because for the past few days I've had pain and a "pulling" sensation, it's mostly around my port. Does anyone still experience anything like this? I thought by now I would be completely healed...getting a bit worried.
  7. You're doing great! congrats!
  8. My surgery was June 20th and I'm getting my first fill in two weeks. Having no restriction has been hard, but I have only had a couple of bad days when I was on vacation. I've lost 26lbs. as of this morning. It's great to see how well everyone is doing, congrats!

    First Month...nailed It!

I did almost two weeks of liquids post-op. Straining regular low-sodium soups helped, I was so tired of Broths. Also, as I'm sure you've read here already, Popsicles are wonderfully yummy when all you can have are liquids. We WILL do this Kim!!

    First Month...nailed It!

It's been a month today since my surgery, so I thought I'd add a quick update. The first week was HARD, lots of pain and discomfort Week two was a bit better, but still painful and had major gas pain on my shoulders Third week, the gas pain started to taper off, had very little energy Week four, less pain but have started having the "pulling" feeling around the band area, still tire easily and have little energy Total Lbs. gone for ever=18 Would I do it again? yes! What I would do differently? seriously do a pre-op diet. It wasn't required for me. I'm looking forward to feeling more like myself in the next few weeks, I feel drained by mid-day, I also wish the swelling in my stomach would go down already...baby steps, I know...I know.

    One Week Post-Op

I have not gotten around to posting about my surgery day, so I'll do a quickie. We got to the surgery center at 6a.m. and I was in surgery by 7:30, I was nervous and very emotional, thankfully time went by very quickly and before I knew it I was waking up in the recovery room. So, that's when reality set in. I was in a LOT of pain and freezing cold, I was shaking and shivering so much that my body was aching, they put two warm blankets on me and it still did nothing for me, my shoulders and chest hurt the most, once the pain meds. kicked in for the pain I was still dealing with the gas pain. I asked myself "What have I done???" I walked, had the yucky cocktail and X-ray and by 10:45 I was in the car going home. The first two days were very bad for me, and I kept thinking about all of the people posting here right after surgery, some post and blog as soon as they get home...I felt very discouraged, I had to stay on top of the pain medicine just to get a little relief. My turn around day was day five, that is when I felt like myself and could get in/out of bed and chairs on my own. I was on clear liquids for five days, yesterday I started soft foods and I was a happy girl! All in all, it's been a lot tougher than I ever thought it would be, but I am still glad I had the surgery. I'm down eight pounds since my surgery.

Day 1 And 2 Post Op

I had the horrible gas pain as well, after the first week I switched to chewable Gas-X and it worked better for me, I just made sure to chew the heck out of them. Good luck, and keep posting and keeping us updated on your progress.
