  3. Since I have gotten my fills, I have always had a hard time eating meats other than most fish...strange since before the band I never ever would make/eat anything fish. I think this happened because I have had a hard time eating any other kind of meat. I have been banded about 4 months now and havent had ANY meat (besides fish) since after my first fill. I dont remember where I saw it, but I think I ran across a post somewhere and saw that someone uses meat tenderizer. I bought some of that McCormicks Meat Tenderizer the other day but dont really know how to use it. Does anyone use this or anything like it? Does it really make the meat more tender? Please help! As much as I have developed a taste for fish, it would be nice to eat other types of meat once in a while. :help:

Hey Benbax...I just noticed that you got done by Fielding. I was also done by him at the end of last Nov. I have lost about 35lbs since the beginning of everything, but I think I am sort of a slow loser. By now you are undoubtedly done with the surgery and on your way to being able to eat things other than liquids. Anyway, just wanted to say congratulations and I wish the best for you and your partner. I dont think you could get better care from the NYU group so you are in good hands. The best of luck to you! :clap2:
  5. I dont know if this sounds strange, but I really did enjoy eating...not just for the full feeling, but I like the way things taste. So when I eat something that I like now, I obviously am not able to eat as much but would love to eat more just because it tastes so good. Like one bite of chocolate cake? Forget it! I would love a whole piece!!!...though I cant do that. So I guess I feel somewhat deprived...not because I shouldnt eat more, but because I cant eat more. Is this twisted or what? Anyone else like this? :phanvan

Congrats Bandstar with the successful surgery (I know its much past by now)...and its great that you already lost 33 lbs (undoubtedly more by now!!!). Hopefully you will be one of those people who lose fast. I on the other hand seem to be losing slower than I would like (though my doctor says I am doing well). I have lost about 35lbs total in 4 months and just got another fill putting me at 8cc. Yea...I know...everyone is different. Thats what I keep telling myself. Enough of this rant. My intention was just to congratulate you on everything so far Bandstar!

Hi everyone, I am not straight, although I noticed bandstar's surgery was almost two weeks ago and you havent come back to tell us how things went...well I hope. Take care
  8. So I was out and about this weekend, ran into some friends I hadnt seen for a while and was really happy to see them. Without thinking, I invited them over for dinner at the end of the week. Normally this would not be a problem, but since I got banded (about 3 months ago), I have not been able to experiment much with different foods. Seems like I get into a rut with the foods I know I can handle well and stick with those. Anyway, I was hoping some of yall could give me some suggestions for a menu of what I could make for dinner with friends...nothing formal...just some friends coming over, sitting around, chatting, etc. I was hoping some of yall might have done this before and know of some foods that I will probably handle well and that my guests would also enjoy. Thanks in advance!!! :hungry:

Just thought I would put my hello in here....I was banded 30Nov06 and have lost about 20lbs so far...really really looking forward to getting a lot more of this off!
  10. :hungry: I am just curious what vegetables people find easiest to eat and how they prepare them. I have had a hard time getting veggies into my diet because they are either too fibrous or too hard to completely chew to mush. I have never been much of a veggie fan so would particularly like to hear from people who are similar in that respect. Thanks
