What types of exercise would you all suggest for tightening the extra skin? Or how soon to start working on this? Im am half way thru my 6 month dr visits and Im hoping to get 100% approved, but I was just wondering about the extra skin.

moisturize your skin - obviously a necessity
eat foods high in collagen, like blueberries. collagen is what gives skin it's elasticity, so that's important. berries are usually pretty low in sugar & carbs. there's other stuff with collagen, you'll just have to do a bit of research & see what works for you.
take MSM.. it's a natural sulfur compound that does not smell (different kind of sulfur) & it's derived from rain Water. MSM lubricates your joints, as well as makes your skin supple & soft. a lot of people with huge amounts of weight lost (100+ lb) have used MSM & had great success getting their skin to shrink.
skin brush.. it removes dead skin cells & promotes growth of new skin.
take a multi-Vitamin & anything with Vitamin E in it is always good.
    hope that helped.

I was having trouble getting my liquids in. I was a person who has never drank enough Water to before surgery with, but I wanted to be better after surgery. Plus it helps you to lose weight. I'm 3 weeks out and I felt like there weren’t enough hours in the day to get all the fluids in without being able to drink 30 mins before, during, or after a meal until I did a schedule for liquids just like for my food. Ever since then I haven’t had trouble and have even started drinking a little more than 64 ozs! I just put 13 or 14 oz of Water in my bottle add ½ a pack of lemon iced tea flavored crystal light and a slice of lemon and I know that’s exactly how much I have to drink in an hour and a half. It doesn't look or sound so overwhelming as 64 oz. Here’s my schedule:

    Food:
    8:30 bfast
    11:30 snack
    2:30 lunch
    5:30 snack
8:30 dinner (I know that is late but that’s when my hubby gets home so it works for me)

    Fluids:
    9:30-11:00- 13 oz
    11:00-12:30- No drinks zone
    12:30-2:00- 13 oz
    2:00-3:30- No drink zone
    3:30- 5:00- 13 oz
    5:00- 6:30- No drink zone
    6:30-8:00- 13 oz
    8:00- 9:30- No drink zone
    9:30- 11:00 13 oz

Hope this can help some others as it helps me!

    Hello -
I was sleeved July 2nd and have been SOOO looking forward to some soft foods. I made this and ate one for Breakfast today!! Who says you can't have crab for breakfast?! My goal is 60-70g of Protein a day, and if I can do that without drinking a shake - I am all for it!
1 can/jar fresh picked crab (mine was 12 oz) HEB Plus carries some good stuff!
    1 egg
    2 TBLSP Cream cheese
    1/4 C. fresh SHREDDED parmesan
    4 Ritz crackers
    1 tsp. Old Bay spice
    1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp Cayenne Pepper (I like spicy - leave out if you don't!!)
Mix together - weigh out 3 oz portions
heat a TINY bit of olive oil i a pan, put crab into pan, flatten out and let sizzle - about 3-4 minutes on medium, then flip for another 3-4 minutes.
    Sauce:
    I cup sour cream
i small/medium avacado - add into sour cream
1/4 cup diced cilantro (leave out if you are one of those unfortunate souls that doesn't like it!)
    juice of one lime
(can even add some capers if you like)
Serve on side of your crabby Pattie - I can eat about 3/4 of one patty - and I am hitting about 22g of protein -
    YUM!!!!

    Hello everyone,
I'm starting my pre-op diet tomorrow and I am dreading it to say the least . I feel like I breaking up with a boyfriend. I've had a food "bucket list" and even though I have had pretty much all of my favorites it still seems weird.
How does everyone else feel who is about to or has started their pre-op diet, it makes it easier to think that I am doing this for surgery and THAT much closer to making it to the loser's bench!
Anywho, I wanted to share an app (android) I came across that I LOVE, it counts down the days, it's called Days Left. I've attached a screen shot of my homescreen below, I set up one for my liquid diet and another for surgery.

I'm drinking Atkins advantage drinks, there the best drink that I've tried so far. I had the option to drink: Ensure, Atkins or Mucel milk. I can't stand Ensure and the Mucel milk was way to expensive for my taste. So far so good no head hungar, or grumbbling stomach. I have 6lbs to loose before my surgery on July 12 out of the 20lbs that my surgen wants me to loose. I know I can do this 2 week diet one day at a time is my motto.-

Well, I'm pre-op as too; but, I think that we are all making the right decision. There are a lot of success stories out here, and I can't wait to join them! You will be fine! Please keep us posted. You can be an inspiration those of us who are right behind you.

    Congrats all!
QDMama--I see we have the same surgeon! I love Dr. M--he did my band placement in 2008, band removal last month, and will now do my sleeve hopefully in late July/early August! He requires 3-4 months before he'll revise. And I too have Aetna...my package will be submitted after my 90 day program is up on Jul 9 (unfortunately I had to do the program again--Aetna covered my band so hopefully there'll be no issues with revision coverage!).
