    June Sleevers Post Op

Hi y’all..Hope everyone is having a great day. I’m 3 weeks out just wondering if y’all have any discomfort when drinking protein shakes?? I can take about 5 sips then my stomach just starts cramping like lactose cramps. I drink premier protein but this past week it just feels like they r so thick and my stomach is like NOPE. Any suggestions on what else I can drink and will this continue once I start actually eating?? Right now I’m n the puréed diet but I eat like 3 bits and I’m done. I’m just worried about getting in my protein.

    June Sleevers Post Op

Hi I had a lapband to sleeve revision surgery on 6/15. I feel ok just tired. I’ve read others comment on here and I’m exactly the same it takes me all day to get in my protein. The only problem I’m having off and on is right side pain. It comes and goes. I’m not sure if it gas pains or what. It feels like a catch or a bad cramp then it will just go away. Have any of y’all experienced this??
  4. Hi...I had gastric sleeve surgery on June 14th and I’ve done really good but I woke up yesterday with right side pain. I thought at 1st it was the way I slept but it has continued to bother me yesterday and today. I’ve taken gas-x and walked thinking it was trapped gas but I’m just not sure. The pain feels like a cramp in my side after you would run or walk along way. It close to one of my incision so I’m thinking it’s normal. Have any of y’all had this type of pain before??
  5. I try and try to eat protein but can only eat just a little bit. I look up how much protein is in grilled chicken or grilled fish but I only eat 1/3 of the portion then I have to count on protein shakes. Please need help in what ya'll eat? I need ideas..

What do ya'll eat for protein??

I seen my dr last week and he said everything was good and I'm on track. It's been a year and a half and I've lost 50 lbs. He said that I should only b eating about 4 oz at one time. That's not enough to get good protein in. I'm just worried my hair has gotten really thin.
  7. I thought I was in the green zone and I didn't get a fill for 3 months. I'm 15 months banded. Then I found that I could eat a little more and was getting hungry in between meals. So I went in May on my 1 yr. and had a a little fill. I was feeling fine a lil tight but not to bad. Now the past 3 weeks I can hardly eat. I don't ever vomit but I do that slimming thing (nasty) and I hurt. I can hardly get my protein in but I weighed today and I have gained 3 lbs. I'm scared to get any taken out but I can't stand not eating or hardly being able to drink my protein shakes. I usually can't eat or drink anything before 2 pm except water. I need advice...

    banded 4/30/13

Carlak I just had you in my mind this week. So glad you finally got approved. Now your journey will begin. Don't let ups and down of the band get you side tracked or stressed. Always look on the upside. Good luck
  10. Hi PhatKat... Keep your head up. I was the same way my first 3-6 months. The 1st month I lost really good but as soon as I was able to eat food again I gained everything back and was soooo embarrassed. But I started to lose again but it was slow and my dr measured me and I lost a good amount of inches. He told me not to get discouraged and that my body was trying to keep ahold of the fat and it was in shock mode. After my 4th fill is when I noticed the big change. I was 190 a yr ago and today I'm 151. It takes time just hang in there.

    Fell off the wagon

My binge food starts with choc chip cookies so I don't even buy them lol. It's ok if you have a slip up just brush it off and get back up and start all over again. I was just wondering how in the world you were able to eat all that bread. I would still be hanging my head in the toilet. I can not do bread or any potatoes. Good luck you can do this.

    Nutrition Bars

I like Premier Protein Bars and Shakes. Only a 100 calories and 17 gr protein. When my sweet tooth kicks in that's what I go for.

    Wine

If you are only enjoying a glass or two every now and again I wouldn't worry to much about the calories. If you are exercising 3 plus times a week you will burn those off. If I go out for girls night I always keep in mind of my intake throughout the day. I always ask though if something is carbonated. I had a bad experience with that. My stomach hurt all night after drinking a cocktail that had something carbonated in it. Enjoy that glass of wine!!!

    I love Greek non-fat yogurt

I love Fage 0% Greek Yogurt add a tablespoon of peanut butter and honey. It's so good and a great way to get protein. I stay full for a long time after eating this.

    How full is your band??

I thought it was so weird how each band and person are so different. I have a friend that was banded 8 months before me. She met her green zone on the 3rd fill with only 4.5 cc and I went for 5 fills and have 7.5 before I hit mine. I was so discouraged when I wasn't losing like she did. But everyone is different and I was in Bandister Hell for like 4 months. It took a lot of will power. Good Luck and be patient.
  16. I was the same way. I was so happy with the weight loss pre-op and a week post op then as soon as I was actually able to put something in my mouth that wasn't liquid. I gained 6 lbs back. It took a lot of will power and brain power to figure it out. The first couple of months I was confused, mad, and upset at myself. But after numerous calls to the nutritionist I finally got it. I'm now 24lbs down. Remember keep your head up and 1 step at a time. Good luck with your weight loss journey.
  17. Hi Jewett....I used Dr. Stowers and loved him and his staff. If I have any questions and can call them and always get an answer right away. And I love the band wagon which is really cool. I was banded on May 18,2012. I had a rough start but I'm now 24 lbs down.
  18. I felt and some times feel the same way. I was banded in May 2012 and I only lost 10 lbs since then. I've even gained some and lost it again. I've got 7.6 cc in my band. I was so down on myself for not losing and I wasn't eating bad. I was doing fitness pal and was consuming 1000 cal a day. But I wasn't getting all my protein. I called in tears to my nutritionist about my weight. He told me about this protein shake called Premier Protein. It has 30 g protein per shake. And I had my thyroid rechecked. After I got everything worked out I finally started losing some. I was happy because I thought great this another diet that I can't lose on. Money down the drain but it is working I just had to give it time.

    New Bander

Hey guys I was banded in May 2012. I was having a really hard time with my protein intake and was not losing that much weight. I was so down on myself. Finally my nutritionist told me about this great protein shake called Premier protein. It has 30 g of protein per shake and they are really good. Now I'm getting my 80-90 g of protein and in one week I lost 5 lbs. I was so happy.

    Raspberry Ketones

Has anybody heard of Raspberry Ketones? I have a friend in my workout group that is taking it and is losing weight like crazy. It's all natural. I was wondering can we take anything like that with the band...I'm 3 months banded and have only lost 10 lbs. work out no less than 4 times a week and walks everyday. I've lost inches but just wondering if I could take something to jump start.

    Raspberry Ketones

I take 100mcg of synthroid and my primary dr said no problem but my thyroid could be the reason I'm not losing. Trying to get it regulated.

    Raspberry Ketones

I've done my research on it but I was just kind of scared to take it with the lap band.
