Overwhelmed myself at Target looking at nutrition bars...either too much sugar, or not enough protein....who knows of a good low sugar/ low calorie/ high protein nutrition bar?

  • Yes! I did see those...have you tried the cranberry nut ones? Im worried about them going down ok

  • I like Premier Protein Bars and Shakes. Only a 100 calories and 17 gr protein. When my sweet tooth kicks in that's what I go for.

I like the Atkins snack bars. I keep a peanut butter chocolate one in my purse just in case I'm out and there's no good food choices. They're only 180 calories, 10 protein, and 2 net carbs. Very, very filling.

My surgeon advised no nutrition or "protein bars". When I'm out and wanting any sort of snack, I always have some almonds with me. Almonds and bottles of water are my constant companions...I never leave home without them...

Why not nutritioun bars? How many almonds do you eat? I love love love raw almonds, but a serving has like 14 g of fat

I've not tried the cranberry nut ones, but I've tried 2 different chocolate varieties and never had a problem with either going down.

Just remember, small bites and chew, chew, chew.

My favorites:

Questbar - anywhere from 150-200 cals, 20g Protein, tastes pretty good (I like the strawberry cheesecake flavor), very high Fiber.

NUGO bars - they are soy, 11g protein, about 170 cals. vanilla yogurt flavor is yummy.

Pure Protein Bars - the smaller size is 170-200 cals and 19g protein. S'more is pretty good.

None of these are fat free, but I find the protein content makes up for that, and I don't eat them every day.

You can get them at Vitamin Shoppe.
