    Getting Frustrated Help Please

Greenwise chocolate protein powder seems to be my favorite. I put a scoop into some sf carnation chocolate instant breakfast and i find that it doesnt even alter the taste a bit. I also tried just the protein powder and silk soy milik and it tasted like regular chocolate milk. im sure any chocolate protein would work fine.

    Sleeved Yesterday

im 8 days post op and yes it does get easier. i remember trying to drink from the medicine cup in the hosptal and it being very difficult. I can now drink from a bottle or a cup though im still figuring out the whole sipping deal. small sips are key. you will know if you have done too much. i know automatically if i have taken too big of a sip its going to give me some pressure in my chest and its uncomfortable. congrats on your surgery and keep moving forward. remember to walk too.

    Pre-Op Diet

i would recommend that you try to atleast eliminate one solid meal and do a protein shake instead. I found it difficult to go from solids to liquids even with my 2 week liquid diet. Good luck to you with your surgery. Best wishes

    Should I Go Organic?

money shouldnt be an issue for me trying to get healthy. i dont want to use money as excuse to eat unhealthy because that is what the problem was to start with. Im willing to do anything and the sleeve was my first step. I think it will be worth it too.

    Running?

Im assuming the answer is yes but i have to ask... Will i be able to run once im back to eating solid foods? Im not talking like running a mile on the treadmill more like 5ks and races. How do you carb up before running or get hydrated enough? Im only 8 days post op but im changing my habits and im going to start going to the gym once i can do more. I find it very hard to get water down? How will this effect running and exercising in general? what do i do if i get dizzy or about to pass out? If i cant drink quickly how do i rehydrate? any suggestions will be appreciated
  9. this is very premature but ive been thinking i want to do it. SInce i have been on liquids 3 weeks and i have essentially detoxed my body of everything i have been thinking about going organic once i can eat solid food again. Organic does seem to be the newest craze out there and i wasnt very fond of it in the beginning. obviously i cant go entirely organic but for the most part i want too do everything in my power to follow it. Since im starting fresh i think that this is another positive change in my life. I want to stay as healthy as possible from now on. Any suggestions??

    Need Support :)

walking is what helped get the gas out of me. even if it was just the little bit around my house after surgery. around day 4 it finally settled down. Im 8 days post op now and can still feel some gas in my left shoulder though. Just keep walking. Hope this helps a bit.
  11. no i dont use a straw at all because i too heard that it isnt allowed. I tend to take sips that are too big so i guess that is my problem. it slowly got easier to drink more and more but i instantly know after i swallow too much that its going to hurt in about a minute. Thanks and Congrats to you as well. Best Wishes
  12. Im 8 days post op and started my full Protein diet yesterday. As of right now i can tolerate tomato Soup. I drink EAS chocolate Protein shakes to get some protein in. I have found that to get even more protein I add a scoop of chocolate Protein powder to sf chocolate carnation instant Breakfast and i cant even tell i added anything. I have been struggling to get down my liquids but not becasue i cant tolerate them but because i take in air everytime i try, even if i blow it all out first. i regret it about 2 minutes after when my chest and stomach hurt. I tried cheese soup becasue i was craving cheese badly. That didnt go over so well. After i ate it i felt gross and i had alot of gas built up. I know that everybody is different and can tolerate different things. So are there any suggestions to what else i can drink while im on my full liquids? what worked for you? what didnt work for you?

    May 10Th Surgery

I had my sleeve done on May 10th 2012. I had to do a 2 week liquid diet before the surgery and lost a total of 20lbs. The first week after surgery i was on a clear liquid diet. I did find myself getting a little bit shakey after doing certain things but that was from just not having anything in my system. I found that around day 4 post op i was already feeling a bit hungry. Once i started the full protein liquids the hunger subsided a little. Now I am on the 2 week full protein liqiud diet.Today I am 8 days post op and feeling great. My troubles so far are getting in my 48oz of liquids and trying to get my 60g of protein. Any of you that are struggling with getting protein in i would suggest trying sf chocolate carnation instant breakfast and adding some chocolate protein powder. you cant even taste the powder.
