  1. keep your date !! im a single mum of four kids & have just moved to a new state where I know nobody except the people I work with. My kids are the only ones that know Im having this surgery & like you I think I have done too much for them over the years. Now when I ask for some help around the house its a battle!! I do everything plus work full-time. Im having this surgery for ME. You should do the same. Tell your kids and your hubby you are going through with it and they all have to step up and help. Write out a roster for them all and put it on the fridge, then dont talk about it anymore to them. If they cant be supportive dont engage them in conversation about the topic. Go and have your surgery and come home and look after YOU as number one. if they need clean clothes they will learn how to wash, if they are hungry they will learn how to cook! I know there is alot more to keeping a household but please dont put this off, even if you end up washing wet towels & scrubbing dirty dishes for the next six months after healing from surgery it will still be worth it!! Do something wonderful for YOU! YOU deserve it!
  2. wow congrats! cant wait to join you on the ither side
  3. wow you look amazing!!!! and 20 years younger! i
  4. august 24 th for me but in Australia have u started a pre-op diet? Less than a month away from surgery date- excited & scared all rolled into one
  5. my doctor has never had a leak!! he staples and then stiches also to prevent them happening. After reading these stories Im feeling a little scared though ...
  6. totally agree with you jlewis, i know there are guys that want to date me but not necessarily the ones i am attracted to. i know im a good person, funny, confident, smart but i'm also fat!! and i know when my weight comes off my options will broaden. i dont think its right but it is reality!
  7. best of luck Texarkolina, im not trying to go against what your Doctor has said in any way but some people dont have to do a pre-op diet at all. sounds like u made a wise choice in what u did eat. there is no way i could stick to a liquid diet, if i could i wouldnt need this surgery!! keep up the good work & dont listen to the negativity ... for every negative post you will get twice as many positive ones
  8. pass her maternity clothes back to her lol
  9. hi mishy, great to see someone else from Perth here, you are ahead of me so you will have to keep me informed on how you go when the time comes. My date is 24 August with dr dolan. Do you have to do a pre-op diet? I havent been told to do one, only fast from the night before surgery.
  10. add me also everyone, im new on there & not sure how to send friend request yet... weight_no_longer is my user name
  11. In what part of what i said did I attack ? i said I dont like being called a liar because I choose not to tell anyone. Its not BS its just keeping my personal business to myself! Sounds like you have a problem with people having a different opinion to you!!!
  12. Not everyone has supportive people in their lives, the ones that do, you are blessed. Some people like myself feel that most people in my life would be unsupportive. And Its not always an issue of worrying what these unsupportive people think or say, sometimes it just that you dont want to deal with them. Also, not telling someone doesnt constitute lying, its just not telling them! Its a very personal journey & is up to the individual who they tell & who they dont. Anyone that wants to keep this surgery to themselves dont let others make you feel guilty for doing so.
