  1. My doctor who did my surgery had talked about helping others who had moves to his area from other states. Maybe you could call a doctor close to you who performs the sleeve. They may be able to give you advice over the phone.
  2. Also are you taking Biotin? A lot of people do that. I found some small soft gels at Wal Mart 5000 mcg and I take 2 a day. I'm loosing hair but not to bad and I'm at 5 months. Good luck!!
  3. I know how you feel. I got so scared right before my surgery date. I looked every where for complications and problems people had. Even googled people who have gained weight back after surgery. I was so worried! One thing I googled that made me feel better was my doctor. I searched for hours to find people he may have made mistakes on. I felt totally comfortable with my doctor the morning I had surgery. I have 3 kids who depend on me and I felt scared to take the chance. I am 5 months post op and so glad I did it. I have lost 70 pounds so far. I track everything I eat on my fitness pal and exercise at least 4 times a week. I think having the jitters are normal. Just know what to expect and make sure you trust your doctor. Good luck!! Complications do happen but not near as much as perfect successful surgeries!
  4. I was sleeved May 18th and am also 5 months out. I have had the exact same thing happen to me! I went from 247 to 189 pretty fast. I have now slowed to 1-2 pounds a week. I have even added a hour or exercise 4-5 times a week. I am not complaining but it is a little aggravating. I just don't want to stop loosing. I have been on a stall for about 3 weeks. Good luck!!
  5. I agree on the tracking food part. It has helped me so much!! I learned about my fitness pal app. From here and I would be lost without it! Good luck!
  6. You have done awesome!! I agree you are very pretty on both old and new pictures!! I love your high cheek bones! I appreciate you sharing your story with us. I am 5 months out and lost 60 pounds so far. Started at 246. Weight loss has slowed down. I get a little discouraged at times and Love to see others success! It makes me know it's posible! Thanks again for sharing!
  7. Wal Mart has the biotin soft gels that are smaller than a tic tac. Real easy to swallow. I take 2 a day.
  8. Yay!! Congratulations!! She is going to love it!! It may be a little different at first but she will get the hang of things fast. This is the best thing I have done for myself and she will feel the same way too!! I am happy to see she has such wonderful support at home. I couldn't have done it without my husband!!
  9. Way to go! Your doing really good and look wonderful!
  10. I am 33 and 5 ft 3 in. My surgery was May 18. My starting weight was 246. My current weight is 190. 56 pounds lost so far!!
  11. I mix both together. My 10 year old son is a diabetic and it took us a LOT of times of trying to come up with this. And after my surgery we all just switched to the no sugar tea. Lol Oh and I double checked the tea jug and it is a gallon container. So we use 1/2 cup Truvia AND 5 equal packets for the whole gallon. It's kinda weird but my family loves it!!
  12. I love sweet tea too! But after surgery I changed from sugar to truvia. I actually use a half of cup of the Truvia (from the bigger baking bag) and 6 packets of equal. And I add this to my gallon jug. It is the closest to sweet tea as I have got! Good luck! I also like the mio too!
  13. I am 5ft 3in and 32 yrs old. I weighed 246 on my surgery date of May 18th. I have most 52 pounds and now weigh 194. I have 3 kids and don't excercise much. I walk when I get a chance. Good luck!!
  14. Your doing awesome!! I am not loosing super fast but am proud with my weight loss too! I can definatly see the difference in your pictures! Congrats!!
  15. Great job!! You look amazing!
  16. Hi, It has been 3 months (12 weeks) today since surgery. May 18th was my day!! I am 32 and 5 ft 3 in. My starting weight was 246. As of Today I have lost 41 pounds and am halfway to goal. I went from size 18 jeans to 14. This has been the best decision of my life!! I have had a few stalls but never lasting over a 2 weeks. I eat at least 70-90 grams of protein each day. If I don't get enough protein I feel real hungry all day. I usually eat 600-800 calories each day. I have taken vitamins and extra biotin every day since surgery. But I still have had some hair loss that started around 2 months. It is not noticeable and I think it may be slowing. My favorite protein supplement is Unjury. I don't eat red meat or pork anymore. If you have any questions that I didn't answer please ask! I will update again when I get closer to goal.
  17. For me it took the longest time for my left side to stop hurting. Just when I thought it was better I would feel it again. It felt like it was bottom rib at times. I am 7 weeks post op and it just stopped maybe a week or so ago. My doctor said that is the area they do the most work from and take your stomach out from. So I would call and ask the doctor. I hope it gets better soon!
  18. May 19th and I am down 29 pounds!! And I feel great!!!
  19. The day of surgery I wanted Mexican food So bad!!! Its all I thought about. Just 1 bite!! Lol But after a few weeks the cravings did ease up. And I too would rather have a pickle that anything!! I am 5 weeks out and decided to peel a pickle and eat a few bites 2 days ago. What a mistake!!! My stomach bloated real fast and the pickle went right through me! I wonder when we can have pickles again?!?
  20. When was your sleeve date? I had mine 5/18 and lost 11 pounds the first 4 days but nothing since then. I am getting so discouraged! :-)
  21. I agree with all the others, it is totally normal. I was real nervous until the morning of surgery. I just got super happy and excited! Everything went so perfect and it was all over real fast. I have a 8 and 9 year old one in which is a type 1 diabetic. So I know how you feel! Good luck and you will do great!!
  22. I was going to have my surgery with Dr. Merriman in Shreveport and the surgery would have been 18,000.- 20,000. I checked around and found an awesome doctor in Carrolton, tx. And he charged 9,995.00. So close to a 10,000.00 difference. His name is Dr Frank Veninga. I highly recommend him and his staff.
  23. Thank you so much for sharing! I had my surgery 5/18 and your story is the first I have seen with a surgery 2 years ago. I always see stories of people who had surgery within the year. Everyone is always curious of long time success stories. I am so happy for you and thanks again for your inspirational story!! I am so excited to have long success like you!
