    Port Discomfort...

I had my surgery on May 2nd and I have the exact same problem. It is definitely worse if I have tighter and/or stiffer clothes on, like jeans. I had my first fill this morning and I asked about it and was told it's normal. Since you said you had your first fill on the 29th, how did that go?? I am having some mild discomfort in the port area since having my fill this morning. Not sure if anyone else has experienced that.

    Stalled Weight Loss

I would be happy with your results!!! I was banded on May 2nd and so far, have only gained a pound. I've lost NOTHING since surgery! My doctor, and most everyone on here, says the focus right now is on healing, not on losing. So, I would suggest you keep doing what you have been doing and not worry about the scale right now.

    Hi! I'm New!

Hi Bethieb, I struggled with the decision on whether to have the surgery too. But, I have tried so, so many times to lose weight on my own only to lose and regain the same 25 pounds over and over again. During my 6 months with my doc (to get insurance approval) I lost 45 pounds. I lost another 15 pounds on the 3 week pre-op liquid diet. I am only 2 weeks post surgery, so I don't have a lot to add for you at this point. But, I am currently down 61 pounds since I went in for the lapband seminar last year and couldn't be happier. I am still feeling hungry a lot, but I know it will take some time to get my band adjusted correctly to help with this. My port is just to the left of my belly button and a bit above it. You can't really feel it, but I know where it is because my doctor showed me on x-ray. I totally understand how you feel - just make the best decision for you. There are a lot of helpful people on this site too, so visit frequently!!
  6. Thanks for your responses. My doctor has released me to regular foods. I hope I don't stay in "Bandster Hell" for long. It's a bit frustrating to feel as though you didn't have the surgery at all...
  7. My surgery was 2 weeks ago today. I really don't feel much restriction at all and feel hungry most of the time. Is this normal after surgery?? I did have complications a couple days after surgery and the dr. had to remove Fluid because I had too much swelling. So, I am wondering if the swelling has now gone down and that's why I feel no restrictions. I hate feeling so hungry all the time... The weird thing is I feel more restriction when drinking fluids than I do when eating. To make matters worse, I am traveling for work this week and it is really difficult to figure out what to eat when you have to eat every meal out. Just struggling right now and looking for some guidance, encouragement, etc Thanks in advance!! Cheryl
  8. That is so AWESOME!!! Congratulations to you. I have lost 61 since I started with my surgeon's office, but only 1 pound since my banding 2 weeks ago.

  10. Hi, I just had my lap band procedure last week. I had more swelling then they anticipated after the surgery and ended up in the emergency room. They had to remove Fluid from my band so fluid could pass through again but once that was done, I was much better. I still have some abdominal pain where the port is sewn in, but I can't feel the port. I have lost 60 pounds since I started the process but still have at least that much to go. I am sure you will do just fine!! I'm new to the group too, but hoping it helps navigate through this new process.
  11. Hello Everyone, I am new to the forum, just found it today. I had my lap band surgery on May 2nd. Unfortunately, I had some complications with too much swelling and ended up in the emergency room on the 5th. They removed Fluid from my band and all seems to be going better now. I still feel tired and have pain in the left side. Some discomfort when I take a deep breath too. This may be due to the hiatal hernia repair they did at the same time as my lap band. I just want to feel "normal" again. I'm hoping to learn a lot from others on this forum. Thanks! Cheryl
