I'm all done! Got back to my room about 4 hours ago. Dr Garcia and staff are all beyond any expectations. I've never been so cared for by medical professionals. I have ZERO pain except for gas pain in my shoulder.

Were You Sent Home With Pain Meds?
Faganberry posted a topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I Have surgery scheduled for July 2nd with Dr Garcia and I was wondering what if any pain meds you are discharged with. I have a non cooperative pcp back here at home and I'm concerned about pain management for the first few days as I have a very low pain tolerance. This is my countdown week, just one more thing to fret about! 8 more days, eeeek! -

Anyone Getting Sleeved Wk Of Aug 6Th With Dr. Garcia?
Faganberry replied to made2beme's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
If you'd like you can contant Melanie the Patient Coordiator for Dr Garcia at Mi Doctor Hospital (melly@obesityintl.com). She can confirm your surgery date and answer any other questions you may have. I contact her for everything now since my coordinator really leaves a LOT to be desired. I certainly would not recommend them but Melanie is terrific. Hope this helps! -
So good to hear from someone who's down the road 3 years! How is maintenance?

Educate yourself based on facts and it will help you sort out the stories you hear. I have done an enormous amount of research on this proceedure and feel like I have firmly in mind the *real* risks and complications. Based on this, my personal risk to benefit scenario is one I'm comfortable with. We each have to come to our own conclusions, but don't let yourself get freaked out by only dwelling on the negative stories. I figure my chances of a plane crash on my way to San Diego is a greater likelihood than dying from this surgery.

I'm one inch shorter than you and 5 pounds heavier. People act like I've lost my marbles to be having this surgery, so I don't tell anyone anymore. My surgery is scheduled for July 2'nd! -
Mine grow and shrink with weight loss and gain. I'm only 5'2". When I am 50 lighter I wear a DDD, which is manageable and looks good with the rest of my body. Right now I'm an F which is just plain ridiculous, I'm looking forward to them shrinking. They're not perky anyway thanks to their size and nursing 2 babies, but at least when they're "collapsable" you can stuff them in a pretty bra and not look like you have a bed pillow under your shirt like I do now

Did Anyone Just Go And Get Your Surgery And Talk To Your Md After?
Faganberry replied to Naturals's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be doing the same thing. Then he can either be supportive and provide me with the basic bloodwork and general care that I need or I will find another doctor. I will certainly miss having him as a dr since I really like him and have gone to him for many many years, but you're either with me or against me so I'll do what I need to do! -

Oh gosh you're right! It's ok we can "meet" back here and compare notes/complain/support! I hope everything goes great for you!
