What Did You Tell Your Friends?
I haven't had the surgery yet, and I'm at the beginning process I guess you could say.I have pretty much kept it private that I'm working toward getting the surgery, and my main reason is because I fear it not happening, or not getting approved and I don't want to have to tell people that things fell through. Those I have told have ALL been super supportive, and understanding! However, I have started a Youtube channel where I plan on starting to blog, or as I call it Vblog, and I would like to discuss WLS in my journals! SO I'll probably start telling more people soon!

What Do You Like About Yourself? It's A Tell All!
I love my pale skin, black hair, and blue eyes! The three together really makes my eyes pop! I love the fact that I have really pointy fingers! I love that my hair is naturally curly. I have an English accent even though I've lived in Ohio my entire life, and no one in my family is from England! Actually they are from Kentucky. For some strange reason I have an accent, always have. Like Lyra I march to my own beat, I always say I march to the beat of my own drum. I love my passion for nature, and animals. I'm loyal to my family first and then my friends. I've always been the one to stick up for the "under dog"

I = Boring!
I have not had the surgery yet so I cannot relate. I will say though, that I hope things start to change. It's hard to find a new hobby when you can't do much due to recovery. Things may change once your recovery turns to living!! You may find new hobbies that you enjoy (I suggest getting into photography!lol).

Almost Died Fm Vsg Surgery.
Stress can be a huge factor in gaining weight also, and lets face it you've been under a lot of it here lately (with good reasons to be). And just because it hasn't worked for you YET doesn't mean it still can't! Having WLS is a life changing event, and it's not an easy way out, or a quick fix. Which I think a lot of people who are unfamiliar with the process, and work it takes thinks. Also everyone's make up is different, and they lose different. Just because the weight melted off of your sister, doesn't mean yours will. I have read threads on here where some people have lost 40 to 50lbs within the first few months, and others may have only lost 20 to 30 in the same amount of time. Remember your doctor can only take you so far when it comes to losing the weight you have to do the rest and sometimes people have to work harder than others, you might just be one of those people who has to work extra hard to get the weight off. Oh and how I wish we never had to worry about fat grams, calories, sweets and goodies! I wish we can could lose weight as fast as we put it on! lol.

Medicare ..is It Approved
Different states have different policies when it comes to WLS. Here in Ohio to be approved for Sleeve I *believe* you have to have a BMI over 50, and a six month diet, or have been diagnosed with one or more co-morbid illness. And then I believe you still have tons of loops to jump through to be approved!

Almost Died Fm Vsg Surgery.
You know I sort of wondered that too. I actually didn't think about it until she mentioned carrying around a cup to spit in when she's eating. I have a cousin who had the lapband done about a year ago, and when she eats she carries around a cup, because she has problems with spitting, and food coming back up.

I agree that 350 dollars is A LOT of money for your medical records! Unless you had 50 years worth the medical records copied out, it shouldn't have been more than at least 30 dollars (given that you had x-rays etc. included in the records, if not then it shouldn't have been more than about 5 dollars!) I'm not calling you a liar either. If they charged you 350 dollars you were MAJORLY ripped off! Medical Records Copying Charges Louisiana Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:1299.96 For records, a reasonable charge not to exceed: $1.00 per page for first 25 pages $0.50 per page for pages 26-500 $0.25 per page thereafter Plus handling charge of $25.00 Plus actual postage For x-rays, microfilm, electronic, and imaging media: Reasonable reproduction costs Plus handling charge of $20.00 for hospitals, $10.00 for other health care providers

Almost Died Fm Vsg Surgery.
lol I have a feeling by the time I am feeling better from my surgery I'm going to want a nice vacation ALONE! Because I know my family is going to smother me (and I mean aunts, cousins, uncles etc.. I come from a huge close family I have awesome support!) Have you thought about reaching out to your local news stations about this? I know that here in Ohio our news channels would be jumping at the story! Once the news broadcasts it things usually happen. Just an idea!

Almost Died Fm Vsg Surgery.
I have read this entire thread, and I really don't know what to think, or believe to be honest with you. From someone who has yet to be sleeved, I will say that the story did not scare me, or put any doubts in my mind. I know there are risks involved in ANY surgery. I also know that Kim did not almost die due to surgery, but from what I read the lack of proper aftercare. Which is very important!

Breast Reconstruction? Need Advice!
My mom and I was just talking about this topic earlier today. I haven't been sleeved yet, but after reading several posts on here I am wondering if I will actually lose these things once the weight starts falling off? I too am genetically well endowed so I worry they won't go down much I know what a pain they are too (especially in the back)! I hope yours start to shrink soon! Maybe they will be the last thing to go.

Im Hungry Every 2 Hours- Only 27 Days Post Op...?!?! Is This Normal
I have not had the surgery yet, but from what I have gathered sometimes people have issues with acid, which gives you the feeling of being hungry. Of course please correct me if I am wrong. I would talk to your dr. and if that's it see about getting put on meds to help!

Major Bump In The Road
I am so sorry to hear this I can't even imagine how that would feel! I am currently trying to find funding, and come up with ways to pay for my surgery (no insurance) but I honestly think it would be more disappointing to have insurance go through every test, appointment, and pre-op diet, with a set date and be turned denied. That would just be a crushing blow, and it's hard not to get disappointed and discouraged I know, but to have it so close and then taken away would be a lot to handle. I'm sorry. And I think yecats said it best!
