Mygalshirl reacted to Cazzy in Food
You are sort in a place called 'bandster hell' u have a lapband but very little restriction as yet, u will need to get some fills done in order to start feeling the band more, meanwhile as someone said u just have to white knuckle this time count the calories and exercise according to your doctors guidelines for post - op , i am very surprised that so many people seem to be less informed about post op situations like this than i would have thought. It should be explained to everyone getting banded that most dont feel any restriction at all once they are healed and wont do untill a few fills have been done, it is also not a quick weight loss route, this is a slow steady process that will take some time for you to learn to use the band and for you to change your eating habits. Take your time and just watch what u eat, use this time to learn to eat properly, chew weel, portion sizes etc .. u will be ok just give it all time

I could eat whatever I wanted till fill #6. Fill #3 I noticed some restriction but I could still eat most anything I wanted. You just need more fills.
BTW-You can't stretch your pouch if you've never had restriction and trust me, if you stretch your pouch, you will know it. It's not going to be fun.

Mygalshirl reacted to Shelleymb in Will The Marker Ever Come Off! :)
I wouldn't use it on an incision, but I use it to remove permanent marker (from work) a lot. Actually a lot of us do. But DON't use it on an open wound.

you should not use MR eraser on your skin. ever esp. over your incisions.
That skin is still really new it will eventually come off, if it bothers you I'd ask your surgon what they use to remove it. it does eventually wash off with soap and Water. I use to work in a surgical unit as a teen it usually took 3 good sponge baths for the makring lines to fully disapear. and we did not harshly scrub wounds we barely touched them. Just leave your wounds be and heal up.

It is absolutely a big decision but one that I am so very much thrilled with. The problem with "trying those other diets" again is that you may have short term success, but thats it. With the band and proper after care and support you will be learning how to eat to live. Losing weight will be a natural consequence of changing to a healthier lifestyle. it is not a diet, you need to change your mindset. The other thing is, becareful about asking family and friends of there opinion, because they may just give it to you. And often times they do not have proper information, they are just telling you something based on there own fear. So take the time to sit down with all of the information you need and read everything and talk to doctors and make your own informed decision.
Bottom line is everything will fail, if you let it fail.
Good luck, (I love my band, by the way!)
