It sounds to me you're doing everything right too! But for clarication, it sounds like you're getting 2 L or 80 oz of Water? If so, that's excellent. Also sounds like you're tracking well but are you using a tool like My Fitness Pal to make sure nothing sneaks past? Other than that, the added exercise may be the ticket for you. One thing you didn't mention is whether or not you're seeing a change in how your clothes fit. Stay the course, the scale will move! Keep us posted.

Six months is a very short time for your brain to wrap itself around such a big change. I think you're right that a therapist could help you see and feel yourself the way you really look and feel now. I've already read "Skinny Jeans at last. Secrets to long term weight loss surgery success." by Cliff Thomas, M.D. It was a eye-opener for me on some issues I've been secretly harboring and how to address them. Get some help so you can enjoy your success. You deserve to be proud and happy!!

Giselle, my surgery date is the same as yours. My starting weight was 262 and I've lost 30 lbs more or less. I am impressed with how you doing!!! Would you mind sharing your diet/workout regimen? I have 600 cals a day, work out 3 times a week. Thanks in advance for sharing.
Hi Kiki!
I had an unusual start. After a 14 day pre op diet that I followed without fail, my surgery was postponed for 4 weeks! I was then on a modified high-protein diet and lost a few more pounds. Post op I ate 400 to 500 calories but now that I'm exercising more I eat 800 to 1000 calories. I work out 6 times a week for at least one hour, with the weekend being long distance walks. Last Saturday was 14 miles and Sunday was 10 miles. I only do exercises I enjoy and look forward to. I'm trying to keep my carbs down except for the long walks because my body needs fuel. Still working on getting the Protein up and many people on this forum have helped with great suggestions and receipes. For example, I put yogurt in my unjury shake, I use fresh fruit in plain yogurt for less carbs, and veggie sausage for more Protein and less fat. Also, once I discovered lemon or lemon juice made my Water delicious and much easier to digest, I get almost all my Water in every day. But I still have much room for improvement on all fronts.
I hope that helps but if you want to talk more, feel free to send me a message. I'd love to chat and share strategies!

Week Eight post op
Challenge weight: 203.4
Last week's weight: 183.4
Today's weight: 181.6
CHALLENGE TOTAL: 21.8
I started a couple weeks late but was still able to place Silver in the Labor Day Challenge. I'm pleased and now me and Evie Sleevie are on to the Halloween Challenge!!! See you there

After the first pounds, my neck looked a bit gaunt, but I've taken care to use a brush with my face cleanser and moisterize. I think the elimination of sugar, fried foods, and other toxins has also helped. Besides, everyone I've seen on this forum with before and after huge weight losses, looks much younger (and healthier) to me.

LOL Congratulations, guys!

I went to favorite supermarket looking for won ton wraps and all they had was egg roll wraps. The manager said he tried ordering the won ton wraps but they still shipped him egg roll wraps. So I decided to give them a try and I think they worked out great! They're the Nasoya but they're 11.7 g of carbs (35 g for 3). I'll just keep trying to find the won ton wraps.

Working out and drinking the Water have been the difference makers for me. You may be get started slow, but build it up with time and I believe you'll be happier with your progress. And as you progress, please keep us posted. Others may have great suggestions for you.

Very ready and very prepared. I was ready for the Loser's Bench. Ready to get rid of years of yo-yo dieting. It's the best thing I've done for myself and I knew it before my surgery. As far as complications, I had faith God would finish what He started. Get a good night sleep and keep us posted.

Welcome to the Loser's Bench! If the nausea gets bad, they can give you meds. Don't hesitate to ask, you need to be able to rest and heal. Keep in touch.

Sometimes your choices influence the amount. I was stuck in the airport Sat and bought junk food for the wait because I can eat so little now. Surprise! Those Doritos and chocolate sticks went down and left me searching for more. Many hours later I had chicken salad and my restriction was back! My fav receipes are on theworldaccordingtoeggface.com. Enjoy!

I'm no expert either but I also vote No. Corndogs are fried and have lots of sweet yummy batter. Yes, one of my favorites. If you look at the carbs and fats, I trust you'll see it won't help your weight loss. Also a sandwich with what? Maybe two slices of bread? Also not the best course. Basics like baked fish and baked chicken with a vegetable fixed in a healthy way is more in line. I'm sure you're already doing this, but maybe the occasional corn dog or sandwich are slowing you down. Oh, and don't forget 64 oz of Water. These processed foods tend to have more sodium. That water makes a world of difference for me. Good luck and hang in there!

Week Seven post op
Challenge weight: 203.4
Last week's weight: 188.8 (Actually, two weeks ago. I was on vacation 8/20)
Today's weight: 183.4 (down 5.4 pounds over the two weeks)
Goal weight: 180 Three and a half pounds to go
So I had the best vacation EVER studying Spanish in Costa Rica with my daughter AND I lost weight. I have never, never, ever lost weight on vacation before. I'm going to give it all I've got this week to make that goal next Monday. I LOVE MY SLEEVE!

Wonderful job! And your hair is cute. Really picks up your younger looking face. Keep up the great work.

Hey Kiki we were sleeved the same day and have lost almost the same amount of weight. The difference? I did NOT lose 18 pounds the first week. It was 5 immediately and then stall. The next week 6 then stall for days. This pattern has continued each week. My body stops and adjusts to the loss. And that's what you're doing now which is why we're in the same place. Different pattern but same result. 20 pounds in less than 2 months. Yay us!

Week Five post op
Challenge weight: 203.4
Last week's weight: 191.0
Today's weight: 188.8 (down 2.2 pounds)
Goal weight: 180
This past Saturday I discovered ice Water with loads of lemon. Evie Sleevie tolerated it very well and it moved the scale. Lots of NSVs every time I wear something. I LOVE my sleeve!

Christi, you are so right to look at your relationship with food at this point. I completely understand your statement about food being the highlight to your day. I still struggle with that because eating a big meal with all my favorites is no longer my comfort. The key for me is realizing a REAL friend would not make me unattractive, insecure, and unhealthy in so many major ways. As I progress, some things taste SO good, but only for two or three bites. That was always true but I continued to eat past that point. Now I don't. With this control, food is being put back in it's rightful place. Good luck to you!

Mine too but Neosporin really helped.

I've read so many posts from people who are discouraged with their weight loss because they're comparing themselves to others on the forum. No, we shouldn't do that, but we ALL do. I'm hoping this will help. Instead of looking at just the number of pounds someone has lost, look at the PERCENTAGE of their original body weight they've lost. For example, someone who weighed 400 pounds and lost 100, has lost 25% of their body weight. Great job! But if another person weighed 260 pounds and loses 65 pounds, they've also lost 25% of their body weight. That's also a great job!
Yes, gender, age, and biochemistry also matter. But hopefully this will help you put things in perspective. I try to remember this when I'm comparing myself to someone else. Continued success to you!
